Big rooms overlooking the black beach. Even though the furniture is a bit dated, the beds are good and the room was clean. The hotel has its own stairs straight down to the beach! Great breakfast too. Its a bit far from the historic centre of ponta delgada, so if you don't have transport you can take a bus to town, and a taxi back (around 10 euro's)
Easy to find, rooms were great, small kitchen but great balcony on the beach. The staff were so helpful and friendly, made sure we had breakfast on our early departure day which was very helpful. Checked in on a sunny Saturday afternoon and could not find parking anywhere, we were lucky that someone was leaving the beach just as we unloaded. Spaces opened up after about 6 pm. So the next day we stayed out exploring until later and had no problems. Enjoyed some time on the beach. The rooms were quiet and did not hear noise from upstairs.
On the beach. Every room has a beautiful view of the ocean with a private balcony. It's more than just a hotel room, more of a bachelor apartment. There is a small kitchenette with a sink, fridge/freezer, hot plate and microwave along with basic kitchen tools. The bedroom and living room is one large area but can be divided by curtains for privacy. It's clean, safe and comfortable. There is a continental breakfast buffet downstairs every morning. Easy access to the public beach, if you set up close enough the fee wifi still reaches you. Friendly staff. Free parking, if you are lucky enough to find one since the public beach and several restaurants are right outside your door.
My boyfriend and I stayed here from 19-22 February. The rooms are clean, spacious and we had a seating area, little kitchenette & a balcony with a sea view. We were lucky with the weather & the balcony was such a sun trap. The only annoying thing was that some of the plug sockets are linked up to the lights. For example I wanted to charge my phone overnight night and had to search for a plug socket that wasn't connected to a light ( I obviously didn't want to sleep with the light on). The hotel is a bit far out from restaurants, but this didn't bother us too much as we had a car and the hotel had parking, as well as there being a free public car park right outside the hotel. On the night we were packing our cases we thought we had left something at our previous hotel in the centre of Ponta Delaga, the night manager working on the 21st of February, was so helpful. I asked if he minded ringing our previous hotel and he did, but the line was engaged. He said he would continue to call & then phone up to the room. I really appreciated this and I'm just sorry I cannot remember his name!! …
Incredibly friendly staff, right on the beach. Maybe a bit out of town, but easily accessible. They had just rigged the entire place for Wifi while we were there, so it made the night in much more enjoyable. Took a family trip with 10 people for 16 days to return to Sao Miguel for the first time in 40 year after immigrating to Canada and it was beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping us with things to see and calling taxis, etc. The beach was beautiful and the sound of the waves at night were extremely soothing. Having the kitchen was a bonus as you didn't always have to go out to eat. Although things were a bit dated, and the beds were uncomfortable, it seemed affordable and I would stay there again. I didn't travel to get stay in the room.
