The hotel infrastructure is good. The room sizes, furniture and furnishings are very standard, as is the breakfast. The location is very good and this makes the hotel an attractive choice for a stay when visiting the city
Wonderful location, well kept grounds and building. Older hotel, but lots of charm, decoration and common spaces were old-school charming. Breakfast was excellent (some gluten free options), staff were very helpful. Wifi worked very well from room.
Stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group The best thing about this hotel was the location. The not so good things: The bed was super hard - my husband and I put the duvet under us to add a little more padding... but it was still much too hard. Our toilet did not flush properly. The pillows were flat and not supportive (thankfully I had a travel pillow with me). The water in the shower fluctuated between hot and cool (I checked with another couple and they had the same experience). Wi fi was only in the lobby. Few electrical outlets in the room. Only one very old small elevator which made scary banging noises when it moved. I tried to take the stairs as often as I could. The room and bathroom seemed clean even though they were old. Basically, this hotel is desperately in need of some updates. Please start the renovations with softer mattresses and better pillows.…
Stay away from this dreary property. The hotel is really showing its age. Its obviously been around for a long time, but doesn't have an iota of charm. The rooms are dull and lifeless, just like the entire property. Buffet breakfast was a joke with a very small selection of uninspiring staples, served in a sterile and colorless room.
Stayed here one night on a recent trip through Portugal. The room was adequate. The lobby was nice. Found the rooms heating system not to be very functional. The room was very warm. Seemed to have this issue all over Portugal. Either the room was to hot or freezing.
