We stayed one night as an excursion from Lisbon. The hotel is fancy and beautiful. Very close to train, restaurants, shops. Literally on the beach, and they have a small somewhat heated pool. The breakfast buffet was lovely. We had sunset drinks on the terrace. The best part was the staff: attentive, welcoming and informative. Second best part was the robe! So nice :)
Second visit to this superb small 5 star hotel ideally located overlooking the beach adjacent to the town although tucked away not to be disturbed. Superior rooms overlook the sea with balcony, breakfast will not disappoint. During winter months they serve a truly excellent buffet lunch
The entire Cascais area is beautiful and The Albatroz sits on such a beautiful spot facing directly over the water. Choices, choices, choices! We felt we could spend our entire 3-day visit on the property with the wonderful breakfast overlooking the water, the patio for sunbathing and pool-side lunch, the formal restaurants for meals and then back to our lovely room. Or, just take a few steps out the front door to stroll the streets and alleys of Cascais -- such a great location for this. We explored and found wonderful local restaurants. We must go back soon!
This small hotel is quite cutely decorated and superbly placed right in the centre of this small town right on the beach . It has recently been well refurbished and is immaculately clean with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Front desk service is excellent. However thats where the good news ends. It has no gym. a small outdoor pool. A small indoor bar. It is totally devoid of atmosphere and breakfast is lacking in every facet. The breakfast buffet is a miserable poor offering equal to that found in a 3 star hotel in Spain and less than a 4 star in most countries. We have been here 3 days - the hotel is not empty. Each day the buffet has been reduced to an unacceptable mimimum. See photographs depicting the primitive attempt. I asked for poached eggs with bacon, grilled tomato and mushrooms. They were served on 3 separate SAUCERS with only a half tomato warmed and not grilled ! Pathetic. Reminds one of an hotel during WW2 rationing. Finally as to cost . Much cheaper deals are available nearby. The Palace Hotel a 10 mins walk away, is a true classic famous 5 star hotel with faclities and service to match its remarkable reputation is 20% cheaper today. Others in town offer better value.…
Lovely deluxe room overlooking the little beach with the relaxing sound of the waves. Large comfortable bed with high quality linen. All the toom facilities you would expect, plus some port to sip on the balcony. Waiting staff are excellent and properly trained. Panoramic dining room. Impressive fittings after latest renovation. Swimming pool heated and available even for Christmas. Lots to do in Caiscais, and there's Lisbon on the train plus challenging hikes up in the hills. What more could you want?
