The hotel is nice placed and surrounded by a flat, but nor easy, golf course. The staff is freindly. Good breakfast. Both indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The bar offer lunch and drinks but to a rather stiff price (compared to portuguese standard). Very short taxi trip to Cascais. Here are many restaurants and bars.
Just wanted to let everyone know how fantastic their service is, even as a guest of another hotel but playing golf at course. Had a problem when someone in error took a flight bag from storage area. Hotel staff were outstanding using CCTV to identify what happened and get bag back. Truly beyond the call. Fantastic service. Totally recommended...and grateful for help
We had stayed at the hotel and played golf here a few years ago, but were so impressed we decided to come back. The hotel is lovely, with decent size rooms, good choice for breakfast and the bar staff were very helpful. The golf course was in good condition and the greens were very fast and receptive. We had a bit of an issue with the air conditioning in our room but it didn’t effect our stay. I am sure we will be back again!!!
Me and my wife have visited Hotel Quinta da Marinha in Cascais, Portugal several times. Cascais is a cosy, wealthy seaside town half an hour from Lisbon directly to west. The hotel has an own golf course - it is an interesting neat park course, partly next to the sea with beautiful views. The hotel itself has clean spacy rooms, good breakfast and other services. But the best thing is a very nice staff. They remember you and are always very friendly, willing to help. All employees seem to enjoy working at Hotel Quinta da Marinha - Staff Manager Manuela clearly is doing something very well =)
I was sorely disappointed with this hotel. When booking, the pictures looked lovely, but they were obviously careful selected. The best aspect of the hotel is the super swimming pool and sun terrace with beautiful views over the golf course. That is about the only real positive. Some of the staff were friendly. Others were downright rude. The breakfast was average. Lots of choice, but the quality of some items was poor. For example, the cheese had a plastic texture and was tasteless. The cereals also were cheap and tasteless. The public areas were clean but dated. The worst thing about my stay was the room. To be frank, it was disgusting. The decor and furnishings were dated. I asked for a double room, but was provided with a twin. The curtains were blingy. The air-conditioning was completely ineffective and the room was uncomfortably warm. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. When I called reception to request one brought, I was directed to a dank stairwell where there was a communal iron and ironing board. The room also was generally unclean. It was the carpet, however, that turned my stomach. It was covered in stains. There was one white stain right next to the bed, which I could only describe as looking like dried crusty semen. Horrible. Overall, I’m surprised this hotel attracts a five star rating. I would say it was more like a two/three star.…
