I’ve been meaning to write this review for awhile but also don’t want to give this hidden gem of a hotel away to others!!! I’ve stayed at Villia Italia several times over the last decade with my husband, for a girlie weekend & with my family, every time it’s exceeded expectations... The hotel & grounds are stunning & so we’ll maintained...I enjoyed the Sea views from the outside balcony while sipping on a gorgeous cold G&T, great breakfast selection, thank you Paulo for your amazing waffles!!! The hotel is a scenic 10 minute walk into town which makes for a lovely pre dinner stroll, but what really makes this hotel is the staff, all of which can’t do enough for you but I have to mention Cristovão who is one of the managers, he has such a calm, warm manner with people nothing is ever too much trouble & he always takes the time to have a friendly chat, he has all the qualities of a great manager. I have to give a huge mention to Filipa who is a hostess at the hotel, she made our 6 year old daughters stay unforgettable, she went above & beyond her job with us even giving our daughter a beautiful Portuguese/ English translation book as a gift on our last day. She is so warm, friendly & such a fabulous people’s person, the hotel is lucky to have her, I can see a managerial role in her horizon.. I’m looking forward to many more holidays at the Villa Italia... next summer can’t come quick enough !! Clodagh, John & Layla Reddell…
I have been very fortunate to have travelled to many hotels all over the world, many of which were five star. Most of the time the service is decent and in some cases very good. My recent trip to this hotel blew them all out of the water. From the second my sister and I arrived, the porter rushed out to open our door, gather our bags and take us to reception where we were greeted so warmly and taken care of. Nothing was any trouble or any issue. Every member of staff including breakfast team, spa team, maintenance and housekeeping were so pleasant and helpful. I became sick on the second day and they noticed I wasn’t at breakfast. They offered to take a plate of food up to me and told my sister they would help in any way. From then on it was amazing. They called the room to see I needed anything or assistance from a doctor, they brought up complimentary tea and on our final day when I was in agonizing pain they told us to stay in the room until 5pm that evening for no charge. I could have cried with relief. They made what should have been a miserable holiday so worthwhile. We had a brilliant time in the spa on the first day and loved spending time in our room with the gorgeous sea view. I will not hesitate to return to this hotel for the warmth, care and kindness that they showed me. …
This hotel is the nicest I have visited in Cascais (out of 5). The sea view is amazing. The location is very good: it's right next to the sea, close to some excellent restaurants and a 10 minute walk from the nice part of Cascais town centre. The staff all friendly and professional. The lobby bar is less of a bar and more of a long lounge but it works. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is nice. Breakfast is a very nice buffet. The major thing that sells this hotel is the rooms. Very large, luxurious and with a great sea view. Nothing at all to complain about. Had a great stay.
Stayed here for 3 days on a business trip. Loved the service, everyone at the Hotel was super friendly, positive and active. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Spa area works great for relaxing, and special bonus for the proper sauna. Breakfast was everything expected at this level. Just be careful when driving down to the underground parking, it’s a bit tricky!
Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights on business but also tagged on some leisure days. Fantastic hotel, staff were thoughtful, helpful and generally very pleasant. Literally couldn’t do enough to help and always had a smile. Rooms were large, clean and beds were comfortable. Didn’t eat in the restaurants but breakfast was good, lots of choice and plenty of it: The pastel de natas were some of the best I’ve had. Toiletries were replaced twice a day if needed. My only slight criticism is mainly aimed at other guests who were very noisy and inconsiderate on our floor late at night, reception should probably have prevented this as they could clearly be heard on other floors, sleeping was difficult whilst they continued to “party”. Overall a great hotel though and I would certainly recommend/stay again. …
