Enjoyed our visit to Estoril , hotel conveniently located to Casino where we were going to see the Stranglers . Hotel was very quiet and as a result I think all guests were located in the new wing . As the hotel was quiet the restaurant and bar was closed (open for breakfast) however this was not an issue to us as we ventured to Cascai and found some nice bars . There was an honesty bar in the lobby area however which was quite quirky The room itself was nicely appointed however there is a major issue with the drainage from the shower ( or lack of ) resulting in the bathroom floor flooding after showering . I was surprised to see that this issue in the same room (21) was mentioned in Hugo’s review in October 2019 and had not been rectified . TV in the bathroom was rather bizarre considering it was just plugged into a standard type socket . Also bizarre was the window from the bathroom straight into the bedroom , although there was a privacy blind if the shower was being used and the bedroom was in darkness James Bond Credit type silhouettes were visible as I was travelling with a female “friend” only this could have been somewhat awkward ! Breakfast was lovely -simple but fresh choice and all staff encountered very obliging and helpful Sort the shower out and it would have been perfect…
Strange hotel. OVER POWERING STENCH of cheap perfume on entering & throughout hotel, masking the stale old dirty carpets perhaps. Our "suite" old worn-out & beige coloured with cheap furniture & rediculous quotes printed on wall. Worse though is the small extremley uncomfortable single beds pushed together with lumpy pillows. It gets worse with an extra 45 euro charge per night for my wife & child staying at hotel despite booking a room that is for four guests. This is the only hotel in 2 weeks travel my family disliked. At best this hotel is 2 stars. Reception asked how I like the room. I explained it was old & needed remodeling, their response was to remind me it's a boutique hotel. If your looking for a clean well designed hotel avoid this hotel. If you like a bizzare dated "faulty towers" like experience you may be happy. I regret booking this hotel it was not cheap, a poor end to an otherwise good vacation.…
We stayed here in Room 503 for 4 nights and both room and hotel were gorgeous. Well worth booking a suite as only other room we saw was quite small. Hotel location great, across road from the casino and 5 mins walk from the beach. Lovely and quiet too but only a 20min walk along the sea front to lively Cascais.
Refuse room 21 in hotel Inglaterra Estoril, Portugal!!! The shower is not clean and water runs in the bathroom while taking a shower. This room is not at the 4 star level the hotel claims to have. The room is superficially cleaned and the hotel as a hole is not well maintained. Only part of the personnel speaks English.
Hotel is very elegant, and both the hotel itself and all the staff are very welcoming. Decor is charming with a few clever idiosyncrasies. Room beautifully decorated with a lovely view over the bay and towards Cascais. Top tip: pay a little bit extra and ask for Room 503 - it’s a suite and is really nice.
"Avoid room 105 or the others on either side!! Unless you can sleep through anything!!"Read full review
