My first stay here had me thinking that if you really care about what you do, anything can become an art form, including running a hostel. And I’m not just talking about the interior design, although the latter is beautiful. Every room has a theme (Jazz, Discoveries, A Walk In The Park), and there’s a great choice: singles, twins and...

I love this hostel, it offers all you could imagine and more :) Fantastic location, great friendly staff, organized social events (daily fantastic dinners, walking tours, tours in Lisbon surroundings, Fado visits, etc.), original interior, kitchen where you can cook your own meal, advice and help to make your visit in Lisbon unforgettable. This hostel is very young and lively,...

This is easily one of the best hostels I've stayed at (and there have been quite a few). I think the name "boutique hostel" is well deserved (each room is designed by an artist). My highlights + friendly and very helpful staff (24h a day!) + great location (close to most sights and to metro) + big lockers in the...

Well-decorated! When you see the photos, you can not believe that it is a hostel. When you arrive their place, it looks even better. You can talk with them to hear their story with this hostel. Always ask advice of them. They give advice with passion.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
