This hostel has everything you could ever want. Strong wifi, comfortable beds, clean washrooms, hot showers, plugs in every bed. The staff was so friendly and always went out of their way to lend a helping hand! There is free sangria every night, which is amazing and a great way to meet people. The breakfast was incredible and different every...

I've been traveling alot and been to many hostels. This is one of the best, for sure. The staff did everything they could to keep everyone together. They offered free sangria, had tours and also took us for a portuguese night out, starting at a great restaurant with four courses and all you can drink and then took us out...

Overall a good hostel. Good central location (easy to find, close to metro, restaurants, shops etc) Good price especially as it includes breakfast. Breakfast was good although it could get busy and there weren't a lot of seats. We had a room on the 4th floor - lots of steps! We stayed In a 3 bed dorm - clean, good...

Has good reviews but absolutely no soul or vibe when I was there. It was mid week in October to be fair but had recently stayed at Home Lisbon and Lookout Lisbon which I found much more atmospheric and better all round. This place is past its prime and quite small. Not terrible but you can definitely find better in...

I'm a solo female traveler and stayed in the 10-bed dorm for 4 nights. At first, I regretted booking a hostel because I was a bit tired of traveling and wanted some quiet time. But a few nights in and this hostel proved great! Of course, there was noise and laughter from time to time but it was quiet when...

Good location. Clean bathrooms with lockable doors rather than curtains. Many activities offered to help socialise and good free breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if in Lisbon

Very friendly, and safe feeling hostel. I stayed in a 7 bed dorm, so I came prepared for noise but I was expecting guests, rather than the street. My room opened onto a busy pedestrian street, which was nice, but louder than I'd have thought. All the staff were friendly, and willing to talk about suggestions. I loved the pancake...

Goodnight was great and I would definitely recommend as a solo traveller. The free sangria every night was a great way to meet people. All the staff were awesome and mingled with the guests too including Fabio and David. Hostel itself was a nice building and everything was kept super clean. Really good location, close to everything including supermarkets, station...

My stay at GN Hostel was the highlight of my recent European tour. The hostel is beautifully furnished and has a retro 70's feel, but somehow still feels modern. The beds were comfortable. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuine. The sangria kept us happy. What more could you ask for? I left wishing I could have stayed, and also...

This hostel is AWESOME!!! From the moment I arrived I felt super welcomed & at home. The hostel has a great vibe - cool artwork, great facilities & very clean. I was super impressed. Not only this but the free breakfast of pancakes, waffles, cake, cheeses, breads etc was the best I've had in a hostel & the free sangria...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
