Many travelers in Lisbon said the quality of hostel in Lisbon is so nice comparing to other places in Europe. I agree with it. And Home Lisbon Hostel was one of the best! I stayed 8 beds mix-dorm, but the room has two separated area, so I felt like being 4 beds room. Personal locker under the bed were big...

Best hostel I've ever been to! The atmosphere is great, everyone is so friendly including the staff! The rooms are very spacious and the lockers big you can fit all of your hand luggage in! I was impressed by the fact that each bed had a power outlet and a light (even the top bunks)! Everything is super clean including...

Stayed here twice. Great location, great staff and clean , comfortable, cozy rooms. Best breakfast ever. Stayed at other hostels in Lisbon and Portugal and, while they were all nice in their own way, this one would always stand out as my fave. Sounds like a cliche but It truly feels like home away from home.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in! I ended up spending about 2 weeks there and didn't want to leave anymore :) I really felt at home. The staff is just amazing! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, the rooms and facilities are very nice as well. We did a trip to Nazare and Obidos which was great. I would...

Rooms clean and very nice, shared bathrooms were very clean and lots of showers. Family meals were a great addition and the location was vey nice. Definitely first...

No other place on the planet can compete in terms of hostel quality. The interior is perfect, the staff is the best, the food is heavenly. And there is simply nothing to match this experience. A place one has to visit at least once.

This hostel is awesome, i definitely recommend it. The location is great, to the side of beautiful Alfama district. The staff are super friendly, it's clean, the free breakfast is also huge, including eggs, meat, cereal, breads, cheese, yogurt, fruits, coffee and tea. The downside is it is a really old building so the room smelled a little strange, but it...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
