The hotel is in an excellent location, in the center, within walking distance from major attractions, and further afield can be reached by metro, bus, tuk tuk, all close to the hotel, and of course by taxi. Taxis are cheap. We preferred taxis. Near the hotel, there are many restaurants and cafes, supermarkets, and many shops for shopping lovers. Excellent staff, especially InĂŞs, and Taia from Ukraine, thy are very helpful in everything - in regards to the room and also regarding restaurants in the vicinity, taxis, explanations, recommendations, and everything that is required. They give a feeling of home. We stayed there for 3 nights, left our belongings for the night when we had a trip outside of Lisbon, returned for another two nights, then traveled for a week to Madeira. Again, we had left some of our belongings at the hotel and returned for another 4 nights. The staff made sure to let us have the same room, and every time we returned to the hotel, our belongings were waiting for us in a clean room ready for another stay. We stayed in room 41 a big room with a very small balcony containing 2 chairs without a table and potted plants The room is large, with a desk. They're safe, air conditioning. There is no mini bar, but there is free drinking water, a kettle to make tea and coffee and there is a small percolator. There is good lighting by the bed. But everything is basic... there is no closet, only an open shelf cabinet, a small clothing rack. Not suitable for a long stay, because there is no room for our clothes and belongings. in addition to a large bed, the room has a sofa and a luggage rack, on which you can place suitcases and belongings. A large bathroom without cabinets or shelves, everything is basic. Rough and unpleasant toilet paper, no tissue. There is body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner; there is a hair dryer, Taxi to the hotel from the airport is 11 euros. Many taxis pass through this street No need to order a taxi. Taxis are cheap. We just returned from a multi-night stay at this boutique property. The location is outstanding in that the hotel is within easy walking distance of so many great sights, restaurants and pastry shops/cafes (not to mention the Alfama District, Commercial Square, Rossio Square, Rossio Station, Tram 28 and the Metro), yet still in a relatively quiet spot, a few blocks removed from the throngs of tourists. The rooms are very clean and well maintained...the rainforest shower is awesome. But what really sets the place apart is the staff. Everyone we dealt with did their best to make us feel welcome and take care of us. Rita in particular went above and beyond to ensure that we had reservations at the key restaurants we wanted to try, and even secured us a table to see a performance at an excellent Fado Club on a busy night. The adjoining restaurant (M Bistro) was also wonderful. The rates are a great value for what you get - the property is rated 3 stars but is better than a number of international 4-stars we've stayed at. We would absolutely stay again.

If you are scent sensitive avoid this property. I don’t know if it was room freshener or cleaning products but the odor in our room was overpowering, even with the window wide open along with the door to the hall. Even the bedding smelt. It was unfortunate as the staff were wonderful and most helpful. It was also unfortunate that the room had been prepaid and we ended up paying for 3 nights in a room we never slept in.

We always try to do the best to please all of our guests in order for them to have the best experience ever, Of course that takes a lot of effort from us. Some guests like the room tidy and with a floral scent, others like it neutral, sometimes a 3rd one will say that cleaning the rooms with neutral detergents look like the room has not been cleaned... It is very hard for us to guess. That is why nowadays, we prefer to clean with neutral detergents that just smell like cleaned. If that scent is too agressive, we do not know what else to do... Can you please give us any advice? And apologize for not having a bide, I guess most of hotels do not have it, just like us. Your feedback and advice would be great. Pretty nice hotel and conveniently located near major Lisbon attractions and local transportation. Breakfast buffet is pretty simple, but you can customize some items from the menu, I loved this option. Staff is very helpful and always ready to assist you. The rooms are simple and efficient, don't expect a lot of space to chill, lobby and bar areas offer you that extra room and you can relax there.

Three enterprising young architects have lovingly renovated an old school building into a charming boutique hotel. The access to the rooms is a bit quirky, but the rooms themselves are charming, comfortable, and will all modern amenities including excellent wi-fi, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and lovely bathroom facilities. Tip: room 22 has original historic tiling. The hotel is on a hill with stunning views of Lisbon. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lovely small courtyard where one can have breakfast. Unfortunately Covid has closed the kitchen for dinner, but served breakfast (extra charge) has a variety of choices. There is a bar with some limited drink selections.

My daughter and I spent 4 days in this hotel and I had paid a little extra for the room with the tiles and the view, which was SO worth it. The room was spectacular and the air conditioning made sure we had good nights sleep. What a treat to wake up to a view of this gorgeous city. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke excellent English. The location is also excellent because it is quiet and yet it is very easy to go down the hill towards the water og down to the Praça da Figeira to visit the local food market or catch a bus or a train. I highly recommend this hotel!<3

Perhaps the friendliest hotel I've stayed at - they reach out to you straight after your booking to find out what they can do to make your stay special and continue to offer help and advice through your stay. The Esqina is conveniently situated as a staging point for forays into different parts of Lisbon, with no shortage of cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel is very clean and tidy throughout, and the guest rooms are comfortable and well laid out - perfect for the needs of urban adventurers. And the cocktail bar is ideal for a nightcap - staffed by a friendly, world-class mixologist. The Esqina will be the first place I look to book next time I visit beautiful Lisbon.

Our travel agent recommended this hotel, and we are totally amazed at the reception, hospitality, and central location in Lisbon. A definite keeper for anyone who wants a successful vacation here. I would definitely suggest the inclusion of breakfast and have Bruno make you one of his specialty drinks at the bar. Taia, our receptionist was the best.

The hotel is very close to the centre of the city but do use the public elevator 200 m down the street because Lisbon is built on hills. The hotel rooms and facilities are basic but comfortable. Breakfast is good and varied and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful BUT if something does not work , do not expect to have it fixed by their " technical" dept. any time soon eg bathroom extractor or a/c unit. Bruno is your man for cocktails in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay but it is more a "functional" hotel than one for " creature comforts". We had a room with river from which you can see the river in the distance but the balcony is "cosy" where two people can sit side by side facing one another. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

My room , after entering the door, had a toilet and washbasin area on the left with a door and a shower area on the right with glass door . Straight ahead you walked into the sleeping area but here there was no door. It was really like a big square with the bathroom areas closed with doors .
