We are a senior couple who have previously visited/toured Lisbon. We stayed at the Vintage Hotel before and after a cruise that departed from Lisbon/ended in Las Palmas. This small hotel has a very deliberate vintage vibe that is fun and unique. The rooms (2 visits) were clean, comfortable and quiet. We especially enjoyed having an evening drink at the rooftop bar with a view over the city toward sea. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We did not have time to use the spa facilities. We greatly appreciated that the hotel made arrangements for transfer by private drivers to/from the airport and to the cruise terminal at reasonable cost. The English speaking drivers met us inside the terminal, assisted with luggage, and shared info about the city during our drive. When we returned late-afternoon from Las Palmas to Lisbon, the hotel had a nice cheese tray, cookies and bottle of wine waiting in our room for us. We also ordered room service from the restaurant for a tasty vegetarian pizza (flat bread). Worth noting that the hotel provided (free) ingredients and instructions for mixing your own Portuguese gin and tonic in room. There was also free local beer available in the room refrigerator. Did not have a lot of time to roam around Lisbon on this visit but found the metro and light rail stops close to the hotel. Had a really nice tapas style lunch at a nearby restaurant (Pomme Eatery). The hotel is a fairly short drive from the airport while located in the heart of Lisbon. We found The Vintage Hotel to be a great value to us and would highly recommend it if you are visiting Lisbon.

I had a wonderful one night stay at The Vintage Hotel in Lisbon. It was my first time visiting the city and traveling as a solo female I was a bit apprehensive about where to stay. The Vintage was absolutely perfect. The staff were extremely helpful before I checked in and helped me with arranging my airport transfers in advance of my trip. The room was lovely and spacious with beautifully decorated interior. The toiletries products are all local and I received a lovely complimentary bar of soap, Portuguese tarts and bottle of red wine.

The hotel is in a great location to use as a base for walking around Lisbon. The rooftop bar had a lovely atmosphere and breakfast was served in the lower ground restaurant, Blue.

I would highly recommend the hotel and would love to stay again on my next visit to Lisbon.

Very fun hotel with huge room and incredible staff. The folks that work here are so kind and helpful. The room was huge and beautiful designed. The hotel had fun colors, comfortable furniture, and an outstanding breakfast. The guests can use the spa areas without extra cost (not including actual spa treatments like massages); I used the sauna, steam room, or pool often and almost never saw anyone else there so I had it all to myself and felt like a queen. The location was great for those who do not want to be in the crowded touristy areas, but want to be able to taxi, metro, or walk there easily. I am still missing the breakfast, it was such a treat to wake up to that every day.

I’m currently staying at the hotel with my wife on our honeymoon and since I used these reviews while booking this hotel, I wanted to share our experience as well.

Starting with the pros, the location is great. We are close to everything that we want to explore and it is a very quiet area. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a slight retro feel that makes it very welcoming and warm. The spa/sauna is stunning and views from the rooftop are second to none.

Now for the unfortunate parts, and why I regret booking here. When we were checking in, we were welcomed in but they didn’t explain any of the amenities (which are handled very differently here). Someone brought our bags to the room and then stood in the doorway waiting for a tip. We had just flown in from cities using the pound and hadn’t exchanged for euros yet so had nothing to give (our mistake) but this interaction set things off on a weird foot. We then checked out the room which was beautifully decorated but quickly noted that the bed was the loudest/creakiest, as well as the hardest bed we’ve ever experienced. Sleeping here the first night, I legitimately considered sleeping on the floor as it would be softer. Beyond that, anytime either of us rolled over the bed sounded as if it would fall apart and would wake up the other. The next and biggest problem we had was the air conditioning. There is a small thermostat in the room but it just has fan speed and a + to - scale. The room was right at 60 degrees F when I called down to the front desk to ensure I was using the thermostat device correctly. After ensuring that the + side would heat up the room, we went to sleep. I was waken by the air blasting cold air in our room around 1am and checked the temp again and it was 55. I put on a sweater, turned the system off and went back to sleep, but it never stopped blowing cold air.

Beyond the horrible beds and freezing rooms, many of the perks of this hotel aren’t very attainable. The beautiful pool and sauna for example requires a reservation to use as there is only one booking allowed at a time. We called the front desk to reserve that, were told it was open, just to get down there to be turned away as it was suddenly booked all day. The rooftop bar with the stunning views was something we were excited to utilize but we went up and with about 25 other people there it was completely filled and after standing and waiting for any service at the bar for 10 minutes, we couldn’t even place an order.

Overall, the hotel is in a great spot and well decorated. However based on the lack of comfort, the poor service and the need to call the front desk for every little detail (as directed by the instruction book in our room) it is too much of a burden to enjoy.

Dear Aaron, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay with us. While we are pleased that you appreciated our location, decor, and some of our amenities, we are deeply sorry to hear about the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. Firstly, it is unfortunate that we didn’t have the opportunity to personally discuss these issues earlier in your visit, as it would have allowed us to address your concerns promptly and ensure a more comfortable stay. Your feedback is very important for us, and we are glad that you had the chance to share it personally with me. We are, however, glad that you were able to discuss the issues with us during your check out, and I hope this provided some clarity and resolution. It’s a shame we were not informed this was your honeymoon, we would have made every effort to make this occasion extra special for you both, as we do for all our guests celebrating significant milestones. Regarding your check-in experience, we usually ensure all guests are properly informed about the hotel amenities and services. We apologize for any miscommunication, and we took your comment very seriously and will personally review the situation to ensure future guests receive better guidance, as I had the chance to mention. The tipping expectation is certainly not part of our usual standards, and we will address this promptly. We understand that the comfort of the bed and temperature control were not to your liking. We know how critical a restful night's sleep is, and we already had our maintenance team checking the room to resolve the issues. We also offer mattress toppers for guests who find our beds too firm, and we are sorry this option wasn’t offered to you during your stay. With respect to our Spa, our reservations policy at the Spa is in place to guarantee our guests´ utmost comfort and safety. Your experience was not reflective of the standard we aim to provide, and we apologize for the inconvenience. As for the Rooftop, we sincerely apologize for the delay in service and the overcrowding you experienced. Our Rooftop is a popular spot due to the stunning views, but your experience does not reflect the level of service we strive to provide. Lastly, once again we are glad you found value in our location and decor, but we deeply regret that the service did not meet your expectations. We strive to ensure all guests experience exceptional comfort and care, and we appreciate your candid feedback. As a gesture of goodwill, we had already offered a significant discount on your stay, but please know that your comments will be shared with our team as part of our ongoing commitment to improvement. As I had the chance to mention, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an exceptional stay. Kind Regards, Vanessa Batista | Hotel Operations Manager

Small hotel with excellent customer service. Whilst families with babies/toddlers are not their main clientele, they did a great job accommodating us: from ensuring the room was suitable for the kids, making special meals and enabling private swimming sessions. The location was perfectly central - walking distance to loads of restaurants and multiple supermarkets, the big public transport hub of Rato, a large shopping centre and less than 30-min drive from the airport, aquarium and castle.

Regulars to Lisbon but first time at The Vintage.

The Hotel is a prefect location being just 15 minutes walk from the main square (all down hill) and no more then 8 - 10 euros from Time Out Market.

The Hotel is a Boutique Hotel, small but perfectly formed, with a beautiful ambiance. A chilled high end lounge on the ground floor with a bar awaits you, along with a lovely roof top bar with fabulously comfortable seating.

The rooms have everything needed with quirky features, huge bed, coffee machine and even a gin station!

We didn't eat in the Restaurant but judged on everything else experienced you know it will be great.

The customer service is fantastic. The Vintage Team's only goal is to cater for your every need, from FOH, Cleaners to the Bar Team. Brilliant service especially from Jessica at FOH.

A great way to see in the New Year! Highly recommended, and a big thank you to Nick Roucos (GM) and his Team for a great stay.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday. Prior to our stay the hotel contacted me to see if I wanted to add any special birthday touches, and arranged for champagne and strawberries to be delivered to our room. On arrival staff were very attentive and friendly, and offered advice for sightseeing etc. the hotel itself is stylish, clean and comfortable, well equipped and offering the use of two bars and a gym plus a restaurant which we only used for breakfast (also lovely). Our friends joined us on the second day and they too were very impressed with their room and the service. The hotel is very central and is a great location for walking to sights, restaurants etc. Overall a really pleasant stay, would highly recommend!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The breakfast was amazing with tons of options and the staff service was exceptional. We were here for five days and never once had a staff interaction that was not friendly and positive. The hotel is a bit off the busier streets. It was nice to get some steps in up and down the hill and for further locations Ubers are very inexpensive. The room perks they had for turndown service and in our room during our stay were nice touches. The spa was pretty much empty while we were there and it was great we could take advantage of the sauna! We would definitely stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at The Vintage in Lisbon. The location of the hotel is excellent – central but quiet, ideal for exploring the city.

The service was first class: The staff was always friendly, attentive and helpful. I especially liked the little extras in the evening – a really sweet idea that made the stay even more special.

The Blue Bistrot also convinced me: The food was excellent, with high quality ingredients and great presentation. Even the breakfast for only €16.50 was absolutely worthwhile – a wide selection and everything fresh and delicious.

A small minus was the pool, which was a bit cold and relatively small. But the sauna was very pleasant and a good way to relax after a long day in the city.

Overall a great hotel with lots of loving details – I would definitely recommend it!

From the moment of check in until the sad moment of departure the hotel was exceptional in every way. Every member of staff whether that be on reception, serving breakfast, providing room service or working in the rooftop bar were professional, very polite and always very cheerful. The staff are a credit to the hotel.
Location wise the hotel is about 25 minutes taxi ride from the airport. We paid 26 Euros on a metered taxi going to the hotel and 15 Euros on the Uber App going back. The hotel is near the Bairro Alto district with a selection of eating places and a tram (24) that takes you closer to the river and avoids a little of the uphill walk back. The hotel is also around 15 minutes walk from where the 3 different open top city bus tours leave from.
The room was perfect and very clean. Considering you are in a big city it is pretty quiet. There are additional personal touches if you book direct with the hotel. Breakfast was amazing for the 6 days we were there for. No issues with anything at all. The rooftop bar is well worth a visit. It is small but at this time of year there was always room. We never got to go to the pool but I am sure if it is like everything else here then it would be well worth a dip.
Lisbon is a great city to visit. We also did a day trip to the sea at Cascais. Well worth doing. Lovely stay and highly recommend this hotel.
