My Story Hotel Figueira receives accolades for its friendly and helpful service, although there's room for improvement according to a few guests. While the hotel's location is often praised for its convenience to attractions and public transport, some visitors advise caution at night. The atmosphere is generally described as tasteful and cozy, with modern and clean rooms, though guests have mentioned that the quarters can feel cramped. Cleanliness is a strong point, yet there have been sporadic concerns about bathroom maintenance. Amenities are appreciated, despite occasional criticism about the towels and room sizes. Opinions on value are split, with some guests considering the breakfast and rooms expensive, while others feel the cost is justified by the hotel's offerings and prime location.

My husband and I stayed at My Story Hotel Figueira for four nights in July 2024. We selected the hotel based on its convenient location to key tourist attractions and public transportation, reviews, and reasonable price. We weren't disappointed.

We reserved a Double Room, City View. Despite being centrally located, we never had any issues with street noise in our room. The room and bathroom were also decently sized and we were able to comfortably hang out in the room in the afternoons when it got too hot outside.

I reached out to the hotel in advance of our trip to inquire about early check in. While the hotel couldn't promise our room would be available early, they were very responsive to my emails. Ultimately, we ended up reserving the room for the night prior to our arrival so we could get into the room immediately to clean up and relax a bit before starting to see the city.

We ate breakfast one morning at the hotel when we had to get going particularly early for a day trip. The breakfast was pretty standard (a mix of pastries, cereal, fruits, cheese, meats, limited hot dishes, etc.) but very convenient and we didn't have any complaints. Given the number of restaurants and bakeries in the area, the price of the hotel breakfast was a little steep (€19/person), but was convenient for a day when we were shorter on time.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. It is heartwarming to hear that your stay with us was enjoyable and met your expectations. We are delighted that the tranquility of your room, despite the bustling location, and its ample space contributed positively to your comfort during the afternoons. Our sound-proof windows and thoughtfully designed accommodations are indeed tailored to provide such a serene retreat for our guests. However, we note your thoughts on the cost of our breakfast and understand that while you found it convenient, you perceived it as slightly overpriced. We aim to offer a varied and high-quality breakfast selection to give our guests a great start to their day, and we will certainly take your feedback into account when reviewing our pricing to ensure it represents the value perceived by our guests. Nonetheless, it is great that you appreciated the prime location of My Story Hotel Figueira, which offers ease of access to public transportation and proximity to renowned tourist attractions. We believe that our central positioning in the heart of Lisbon is one of the many aspects that our guests value, and we're pleased it contributed to the enjoyment of your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Best regards, Sara Trigueiros, General Manager

For a city break we have booked My Story Hotel Figueira. The location of the hotel is excellent for this. Right in the center, close to shops, restaurants, the starting point of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus, tram stops and Rossio metro station. The hotel is slightly different from other hotels; you walk into the restaurant La Squadra and the bar is the hotel reception. For security reasons, you can use the room map to operate the elevator to your room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a left-luggage office.
Our room was situated on the third floor on the square. The windows are very well insulated. If you open the windows, Lisbon will enter your room. Electricity is activated using your access card from the room by the door. The television was 'hidden' in a large mirror wall. Very modern! The room also has a minibar (not used) and a safe. Also very convenient: the three pillows on the bed are not just for styling the room. Each pillow has its unique feature, allowing you to choose which pillow to use. Furthermore, we could use a towel set and bathrobe. Amenities include a shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and a hand soap and body lotion. Although we had hung the towels neatly for a next use, they were replaced every day (in our opinion unnecessary). Every day there were two bottles (packets) of water in the room for us. Which was cleaned clean daily.
What we do miss is a quiet hotel lounge, where you can have a drink after a long day. Restaurant La Squadra is too noisy for that. But the hotel has contributed to us a great stay in beautiful Lisbon.

Great location for its price. I was able to get here straight from the airport via metro( with one change of line) The metro stops at Rossio and lead up to Praça da Figueira, which the hotel faces.

The location of the hotel is a handy walk to Baixa/Chiado and the rest of Lisbon is well covered by their excellent metro system. I had a 48r Lisbon card which gave me instant access from the airport straight away.

My room was a tad small but then I was hardly there only to sleep. The toiletries were from ritual which I like and they had a jug/kettle to boil up water. Perfect to make coffee, instant noodles etc etc.

I made use of the hotel breakfast and occasional dinner. Pretty good range of foods.

I booked at the last minute through Booking at My Story Augusta because I had a problem at another accommodation. As soon as I arrived they informed me that they had just sent me a message notifying me of the lack of availability. They immediately offered me an upgrade to the My Story Figuiera hotel. They accompanied me and took my suitcase there (it is relatively close) and also found me accommodation at My Story Ouro for the remaining nights of my stay in Lisbon.
It was very pleasant to arrive at the hotel, in the room there are personal hygiene items from the Ritual brand, a bathrobe and slippers. It has a coffee maker with capsules, a safe and is very spacious and comfortable. On this occasion my stay did not have breakfast included.
It is very well located and has a nice bar with a terrace.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The AC works well and the wooden shutters really keep the morning light out. The bed was very comfortable and the Rituals bath products are lovely. I have a couple of issues with this hotel. There are only paper cups in the room for tea and coffee. I called reception asked for a proper cup and was told it was not possible. For 300euro a night I do not expect to drink tea out of a paper cup. I used my tea bags and coffee supply very quickly and for two days the house keeper did not refresh them. The tv a mirror television, and to watch it without any glare or reflections then all lights must be turned off and the shutters closed. Its a really bad design. Other than that, we had a very comfortable stay and would stay again.

Dear Gwenny, We would like to thank you for this review about your experience in our hotel. We are thrilled to hear that the air conditioning, wooden shutters, comfortable bed, and the quality of our Rituals bath products contributed positively to your experience at My Story Hotel Figueira. However, we regret to hear about your dissatisfaction with the paper cups provided in your room. We strive to maintain a balance between quality service and environmental considerations. We also apologize for any inconvenience caused by the replenishment of the tea and coffee supplies, as well as the design of the mirror television, and will take your feedback into consideration as we continually aim to improve our guest experience. It is gratifying to know that, despite these issues, you had a very comfortable stay overall and would consider staying with us again. We take great pride in our hotel's services and amenities, and your acknowledgment is highly appreciated. We hope to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay in the future. I never recommend racism against Asian guests. Every time I checked in and stayed for several days, I called Nihao to ask for amenities that I didn't know my nationality.
The female manager at the front door of the restaurant on the first floor also showed that the colored people were not the empty window seats, but guided to the front seat of the inner kitchen in the hall. Chen said he was a Reservation, but he felt it was clearly racist to confirm that another employee was not a Reservation.
Amenities such as fresh water had to be filled daily, but they had to be requested to the lobby every time, and the attitude of the staff who brought them was very unfriendly. And the shower, which was placed on the floor of the bathroom for laundry, was left without washing again, causing serious concerns about the hygiene of the hotel. It was my 2nd visit to Lisbon and I stayed in several hotels but the most unfriendly and unpleasant.

Great hotel right in the heart of Lisbon. Easy walking distance to Castelo de Sao Jorge, Praco do Comercio, the promenade on Rua Augusta, and countless restaurants and shopping options. Rooms are small (this is Europe, not America), but are modern and functional with all the amenities (safe, hair dryer, etc.). My family had three rooms facing Praca da Figueira, including one on the first floor (second floor in America) with a french balcony. The rooms have modern windows and french doors that block out all of the noise when closed even on the lower floor, but allow you to enjoy the sounds of a bustling urban center when open. The restaurant and bar were good, they had a good breakfast buffet, and they had a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy a drink or snack looking out onto the Praca.

The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Like every other hotel I have been to in Europe, they scan your passport when you check in. When they did they must have noticed it was my birthday because when I returned to my room after dinner they had delivered a dessert and some sparkling wine with a nice note wishing me a happy birthday!

Nicely decorated hotel but let down on arrival by the distinct budget feel to all the finishing touches. No drinks provided other than 2 herbal teabags & a couple of instant granule coffee sachets on first night only - no black tea, no milk in the room, no sugar. There is a coffee pod machine but zero coffee pods..they cost 1 euro each from reception if you want them. The cups are cardboard. No teaspoons. The water in the fridge is accompanied by a price list, not included in your room rate. Asked about the water and drink situation and told drinks are only available first night which is ridiculous as paying for 7 nights same room rate per night, which was not cheap...why should that be any different to someone staying for one night? No towel rail and not much space to put your belongings and clothes/cases as the furniture is very narrow due to the small room sizes. There were bathrobes in the room on the first night but we noticed these disappeared 2nd night. We thought we had booked the superior double on the Agoda advert, but were told there is only 2 of these in the hotel and they were not available. We had booked ahead and emailed twice asking for certain standards to be met but none of these had been addressed and we just felt our room is bog standard economy. There was a single bath cap but we had booked the room for 2 people?! The room is very noisy because of the constant trams and street works. Breakfast was nice but we had to wait 10 minutes for a table on our fourth day. Tea and coffee is offered at the end of breakfast if you are lucky. The 2 stars is for the design/decor. Lucky to get toilet roll in your room rate in this place.

Dear Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we appreciate your compliment regarding our style we are sorry that not everything was entirely to your expectations. As we explained in person, no superior room was booked for you, and regret that as we do not work directly with Agoda we suggest that you may wish to take this up with them. We offer complimentary tea and 2 coffee pods in the rooms and additional pods are 1 euro each as you correctly mention and our bathrobes are available for you throughout the entire stay. The rooms in our establishment vary in their uniqueness and size due to the 250-year history and we do our best to make sure the space is used to the very best efficiency. Please be assured we have noted your feedback, your comments are welcome and assist us in highlighting areas for improvement in our services. I was at the hotel in October 2023, I didn't really like the service at the reception, especially Andre, who always seemed to be in a bad mood. The other people served us well. Normal breakfast, restaurant with great pizza. Lunch served until 3 pm, we didn't manage to have lunch, we arrived at 2:50 pm. We booked a room with a view and they put us in a room that didn't have a tall shower, just a little shower in the bathtub that wet the entire bathroom. We changed the next day, to another one that had a tall shower, but didn't have the same view. The location is great because you are close to everything, it is very clean and the amenities and products are great. The maids especially are very kind.

This hotel is in a wonderful position for seeing Lisbon it is fairly central but on one of this quieter squares.
We had a twin room on 2nd floor which was spacious (however our friends room on 1st floor much smaller)
There is breakfast available at extra cost but it was a hot and cold buffet and set us up for the whole day ahead. We also ate there in the evening as the pizza are amazing.
The staff are really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Made for a great few days away.
