We were looking for a cosy, friendly, small, we'll run hotel and that's exactly what we got. Friendly, helpful staff, great breakfast, good location and an honesty bar in the top floor library. Add to that the complimentary decanter of port in the room and you've got a perfect venue for a short break.

Stayed for four nights at this lovely hotel and can only echo the positive comments of recent reviewers - good bedroom, very good breakfasts, friendly staff, lovely library and balcony for drinks, and a convenient location away from the city centre. Some very good restaurants within a short walk.

Wonderful stay. The hotel is charming, our room (35) was particularly nice. Each room has complimentary port and the honesty bar is reasonably priced and well stocked. Te, coffee and cake available on the ground floor or level 3 at all hours. Breakfast was included with VIP, fresh fruit salad, hot and cold choices, custard tart, cake and prosecco...what more...

This charming small hotel is packed with wonderful things. Slightly removed from the very centre of town is this pretty hotel stuffed with antique detail. The staff are fabulous and very happy to work there. The facilities a first class and the rooms light and airy some with views of the river. There are several alternate spaces where you can...

Delightful. A giant old mansion made into an elegant hotel. Breakfast varied and delicious. Tea all day. Our room looked out at the river. Staff were excellent. A curtain rod broke and they had it repaired the same day. Grab this place.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little hotel. The staff was helpful when the room wasn't warm enough. They immediately sent a technician and when he couldn't fix it, they sent us a heater which helped a lot. Their breakfast was good and till 12 o'clock which was perfect for a pampering weekend. We enjoyed the location too, specially...

We traveled to Lisbon...a great trip. As Janelas was a nice boutique hotel...a wonderful museum was right next door. Many restaurants were close by. Enjoyed playing cards at night in the dining room...very relaxed atmosphere.

This hotel offered a great place to stay during my five night stay in Lisbon. It is in a nice, safe neighborhood that's walkable to the city center (approximately 20-25 minutes), ISEG, and the Estrela Basilica. The staff is attentive without being overbearing and the rooms are nicely appointed. The common areas (garden, library) are lovely. The only complaint I...

What a lovely find. 20 minutes walk from the city centre this small but full of character hotel was perfect for our weekend stay. The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Buffet breakfast was from 7.30 to 12 and was excellent. We had access to a small kitchen on our floor and also an honesty bar...
