This is a charming, nicely located hotel with great atmosphere. Rooms are nice and one has the option of asking for a river view. Internet is free and adequate. Breakfast is great. The hotel offers complimentary port in the room, and coffee, tea and cookies in the library. Alcoholic beverages are honor based. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful....

A terrific hotel - genteel, stately. The breakfast room could be a little bigger - or time your breakfast time to avoid the rush; you have until noon anyway! Very civilised. The bathroom I had was huge, and there was also a small balcony with a bit of a view of the harbour. Location is great, all flat to the...

The little hotel looks like a big old and elegant villa, very well cared-for with very nice and comfortable common-rooms. The hosts and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We liked the whole atmosphere very much and enjoyed to sit in the library with a cup of tea and have the look all over the waterside. Our room with...

We stayed here twice, and enjoyed both times. The rooms are a bit dated, but the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is good, the rooftop library and patio with honor service bar and snacks, and excellent care of guests made both stays fantastic. Tips - Ask in advance to reserve parking and try for a side or water facing room...

This hotel has so much character -- with terraces, old tiles and bricks, a piano, a library overlooking the ocean -- it was the perfect getaway. The sun shone on us during breakfast on the back terrace/garden, even making the winter feel like spring. Lisbon is an amazing city, but can be noisy, and this hotel is just outside of...

As Janelas Verdes has been my favorite hotel in Lisbon for many years. It is small with lovely rooms, and reasonable rates. They have a great senior rate. There is a terrific breakfast with a large menu and Champagne served each morning, in a courtyard when weather permits. The top floor library with honor bar is an elegant retreat in...

We stayed for 4 nights and the TripAdvisor reviews were one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. The service received was excellent, front of house always on hand to help [special mention of Anna]; breakfast is self served, but what a breakfast it was, and for us it set up the day in not having to eat until dinner...

This hotel is the quietest I have ever been in and is ideal for relaxation. Rooms were adequate size and clean. The shower is one in the bath not a separate cubicle but was powerful and hot. The hotel is like a large house with sitting room and Library which has a self-serve honesty bar. Breakfast was good with scrambled...

I had the pleasure of staying in this very unique, cosy and wonderful hotel for 4 nights last week. My top floor room faced the Tagus and the window opened onto a gorgeous view of the river and the 25 April bridge in the distance. I was lucky enough to be there just after all the bed mattresses were replaced...

What a charming boutique hotel! Tastefully decorated in a traditional manner with beautiful communal areas. Of particular note is the library on the third floor with outdoor terrace, a perfect place for early or late evening drinks from the honesty bar or complimentary tea or coffee. Our room was comfortable with high ceilings and a huge bathroom. The view of the...
