Tea-time is lovely. They made my daughter a special birthday cake and we celebrated our last night in Lisbon. Just a fabulous hotel with many amenities. You can walk everywhere and feel safe, We took taxis to the center of Lisbon (about $3.00) but you could walk, and it is a good walk! Would definitely stay there again.
Incredible location, with gorgeous rooms and a lovely dining room. I certainly hope to return though was happy that my company was footing the bill! even if you can't afford to stay here, if you can, try to dine or at least walk around the garden. it's a lovely piece of Lisbon!
Very nice historic hotel. Old world charm for sure. Be sure to read the fine print of your rooms when you register. There seems to be quite a difference in room size and amenities. Some have coffee makers. Some don’t. Some have balconies or porches and others do not. Our room ended up being quite dark and gloomy. Has very nice indoor and outdoor pools. Not quite big enough for lap swims but can do in a pinch. Has gym and on site spa for massages. Pool area also includes hot tub, sauna and steam bath. Breakfast bar is very nice. Lots of breads, fruits, cheeses and meats to choose from. Different styles of eggs, pastries, yogurts in cereals. Coffee, tea, juices, and mimosas available too. Really wish we could have such nice breakfast spreads in the states but hey, that’s one of the things that makes Europe special. Location is close to Belem and the Conference Center. Quite far from the down town tourist sites though.…
We have just had 3 nights at the Pestana: the main building is absolutely stunning, full of antiques and large grandiose reception rooms. The staff were friendly and very professional. The gardens are really beautiful, and the first class facilities include a wonderful spa and indoor and outdoor pools. We stayed in a basic double room, which was adequate and reasonably priced. The one downside is the location, which is a good 20 minutes taxi ride from the town centre. All in all a beautiful place to stay in, would definitely go back.
Very nice welcoming staff. Stunning palace converted to a hotel. The hotel is in an elegant area of Lisbon about 15 minutes out of the centre. Taxi is about €7 and they arrive instantly. Bedrooms are comfortable and the rooms are so peaceful. The only let down is yet again the buffet breakfast. Why oh why can’t these top hotels make a cooked breakfast freshly when ordered. It’s so much better for the customers and cheaper for the hotel!! We were among the last to breakfast and all the wasted tepid food, scrambled eggs, poor quality bacon, sausages etc will just be thrown away! Food wastage is not good for the planet! Spa area very nice. Had a fabulous massage from Douglas, highly recommended. He taught me some exercises for my sciatica thank you so much.
