The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon garners acclaim for its professional staff and pristine cleanliness, with guests often noting the spotless rooms and public areas. Many appreciate the serene lobby and luxurious atmosphere, accented by quality furnishings and beautiful decor. However, opinions on the rooms vary, with renovated ones earning praise, while others are deemed dated.
Some visitors have experienced slow service and questioned the hotel's value, pointing to overpricing and less-than-ideal location relative to tourist attractions. Amenities are top-notch, yet some services may come at a steep cost.

Though it’s located a distance from shops and restaurants, I found the hotel to be exceptional. There have a very well-trained staff from the front desk to the bar to the cleaning crew. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the park with a table and two chairs to enjoy the welcome wine and fruit.
We had a comfortable bed with soft linens, robes, slippers, a safe, coffee maker, and two sinks. There was ample closet space and a good shower. Any concerns were handled immediately, the cleaning and turndown service was punctual and the rooms were very quiet.
We enjoyed a very nice breakfast buffet that was included with our room each day. The bar food was very good and the waiters were efficient and personable. The top floor included a fitness center with an outside track and expansive city views.
The orchids were gorgeous!

One of the best hotel we have stayed in. Service is impeccable and the attention to detail is superb. You feel well received and valued. The staff are amazing and super helpful. The rooms are luxurious and large. We stayed in interconnecting premium park view room/suites which strike the right balance for price / size / views. Breakfast is abundant but be there before 9am. We enjoyed the sushi counter at the bar area, that serves amazing food sushi/sashimi the chef can only cater for a few orders at a time but be sure to reserve. The gym is a gem :)… top floor with amazing views. The spa has great staff and treatments, don’t forget the two pools. The kids loved it and wanted to extend the stay!! My wife and I found some good down time too as hotel is super safe and secure. The location is close to Amoreiras and avenida da Liberdad, for us it was great to walk to and from the Center as we didn’t want to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle. In lisbon do not bother with any other alternatives if your budget allows it. This is a tip top hotel made special by the staff and the service. My third stay and the family’s first, for sure we will be back!

Dear Myviewskt, First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We highly value the thoughts of our guests, and reviews like these are what motivate us to continue providing an excellent service! How wonderful to read that you felt comfortable and in a luxurious space in our Premier rooms! The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon was built as the first luxury hotel in the city of Lisbon, and our recently renovated rooms were designed down to the smallest detail, to maintain the magic and charm that was originally intended for its construction! I hope you have enjoyed to the fullest the gastronomic experiences that our hotel provides, from the most typical Portuguese pastries at breakfast in Varanda, to a journey where our Sushi Chef brings Japanese food to you! We are thrilled to know that our gym and spa made a good impression on you! It is indeed a wonderful experience to do with the family, as after working out (or going up to our running track just to see the breathtaking view!), parents and children can meet in the spa’s indoor pool lounge and have a relaxing family moment! We appreciate your loyalty and continued confidence in choosing our hotel, and we look forward to continue welcoming you and your family! Thank you, Best regards, Ana Ferreira

Still dreaming about my glorious stay at FS Lisbon. After 18+ hrs of travel, I was greeted by friendly faces and breathtaking floral displays by Roberto Fontanelle (who I had the pleasure of meeting when I was leaving to fly back home as new floral displays were being installed). My room was the premiere park view room, which was elegant, spacious and quiet. Such attention to detail such as having beautiful teal crushed velvet chairs modeled after the original 1950s card room chairs. I could not stop smiling walking out to my own private terrace with views of Eduardo Park extending to the Tagus river.
The hotel sits on a hill away from crowds and traffic. The common areas are quite spacious and bathed in natural light with access to open air, which decreases risk of airborne infection transmission. So relaxing to be surrounded by exquisite paintings and sculptures. I very much enjoyed my daily morning swims in an actual lap pool, and lounged by the second outdoor pool after a day at the Gulbenkian museum, which one can walk to from the hotel.
I would highly recommend dining at O Japones for incredibly fresh and expertly prepared sushi.
I truly felt rejuvenated after my stay which is priceless. Muito Obrigada and I will be returning soon to explore more of the city, and to dine at Cura (which was closed for summer holiday).

Dear Cagirl_12, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback regarding your recent experience with us. I must say I can not find the words to thank you enough, we are extremely delighted to read your comments, the entire team would like to thank you intensively, The description you have made of the Hotel is just wonderful, I could not do it better, your details are amazing. We are so happy when our guests vibrate, as we do, with the details we have prepared, such as the crushed velvet chairs modelled after the furniture of the 1950s, or the exquisite paintings and sculptures we have spread around the Hotel. We would like to remark two sentences we can not stop reading, "I could not stop smiling walking out to my own private terrace" and "I truly felt rejuvenated after my stay" You really make us feel so proud, and you have given us a sense of honour and purpose to serve you, we are so grateful for that. We are hoping to welcome you back in the near future to the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. With my best regards, Ana Ferreira

My wife and I are fans of FS. Always reliable and luxurious. However Lisbon is not up to same standard as others around the world. Crowded and slow bar service. Room fruit over four days not replaced leaving rotten fruit in room. Why not fresh fruit each day when paying for a junior suite - surely? No little surprises in room each day until our last day when we complained about fruit and a chocolate sardine box arrived! - have we really got to complain first? Bathroom no longer has nice soaps but now just one some small “green” bar of what feels like anything but luxurious soap. Bathrooms now have large refillable bottles of shampoos etc like 3/4 star hotels. No TV in bathrooms. These are management matters not the staff who are in the main excellent. Bed and bed linen good but somehow the hotel just doesn’t seem to tick the FS box.

Dear 1Honest_Frank, First of all, thank you for sharing your honest feedback and for choosing to stay with us at the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon. We are extremely grateful for your loyalty to our brand, and are truly sorry to hear that your experience at our hotel did not meet the high standards you have come to expect. We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate situation regarding the fruit in your room and the lack of fresh amenities throughout your stay. Your feedback about the changes in bathroom amenities is also noted, and we understand your disappointment with the shift in our offerings, as we intend to become more eco-friendly, using large refillable amenities and natural products. Please rest assured that we are committed to providing a luxurious experience, as we are known for, and we will review these aspects to ensure a better experience for our guests. In hindsight we should probably have booked a hotel closer to the centre. This hotel is a monument to the 1950’s the communal spaces are full of amazing artworks from the 1950’s . We had a very large and spacious suite again a relic from the 1950’s the only problem was that it was quite musty.

Dear BayswaterMum, First of all, thank you for sharing your feedback and for choosing to stay with us at the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the common areas of our hotel and appreciated the artwork from the 1950s. We are proud to maintain our hotel’s unique character and charm! However, we are sorry to hear that the suite did not meet your expectations, as it remains with a more classic décor. We appreciate your comments about the location and understand that it might not have been ideal for your plans, as we are not located in downtown Lisbon, although we are right in the heart of the city. Thank you once again for your feedback, and if your travels bring you back to Lisbon, please feel free to contact us directly, and we would be delighted to extend an upgrade to our renovated rooms. Warm regards, Andreia Cotrim Executive Administrative Assistant

The Ritz in Lisbon has been the top hotel in the city for decades. It is still in a league of its own in terms of service and atmosphere.
The Deluxe rooms have been very well renovated by Portuguese decorators who have kept the 1950s spirit of the hotel (for instance the unique bathrooms). The Superior rooms were redone many years ago by a French decorator, I believe, and are now a bit dated.
I give the hotel three stars because of the rates they are now charging. Until around COVID, the rooms were in the range of 400-500 euro per night. It is now double this or more, which is simply absurd for Lisbon.
Instead of staying at the hotel, it is also possible to have a meal at the restaurant (lovely lunch buffet) or to book a treatment and enjoy the spa and pool.

The Ritz is a great property with an outstanding and caring staff. The biggest issue is that only half of the hotel rooms are renovated as of June 2024. Beware, this is not made clear on the Four Seasons website. The not renovated rooms are very old with tired decor, whereas the renovated rooms look very nice. It's not clear how you can make certain to get a new room, and it's not appropriate to be charging the same room rate for both. Unless this is changed, I would stay elsewhere until the renovations are 100% complete.

Dear lauterbur, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback and for choosing to stay with us at the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon! First of all, we are pleased to hear that you found our entire team to be outstanding and caring. We will make sure to pass along your kind words to them. We truly apologize for the confusion and inconvenience regarding the room differences between renovated and non-renovated. Our hotel has undergone a major renovation over the past 2 years, from the 1st to the 7th floors, and we plan to extend this in the near future to the top 3 floors, which remain with a more classic décor and are considered "superior rooms” on our website. However, we will continue to work on improving our communication to ensure that our guests have accurate and comprehensive details when booking their stay. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and hope that you might consider staying with us again once all renovations are complete. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Andreia Cotrim Executive Administrative Assistant

The hotel is located very close to Prince Edwards Park. The check in process was very quick and easy - they also offer exchange service incase you need to exchange money (it is very difficult to find reasonable rates and places in the city). The hotel can locate taxi service as well. Additionally, their were rental options that were very close to get to a car.
The rooms very nice and very technologically advanced (the curtains would open as we enter the room). They also included USB charging. The rooms came with all the amenities you could ask for including turn down service that brought bottles of water to the room. Each room has a balcony as well.
Additionally, their was a continental breakfast that was included in the rate of the room, which had a great variety of options. I would recommend that you visit the rooftop as their is a running track on top of the building that offers tremendous 360 views of the city.

The main parts of the hotel are all very well appointed, and it has a real air of luxury. The bedrooms are a decent size, but they do feel a bit dated. We had breakfast as part of a group setup, and the food was very good - as was the service.
I don't really think that the hotel is very well located for seeing the sights, as it is a good 35 minute walk down to the old town, and it's uphill all the way back!
If I went back to Lisbon, I would choose a hotel in a better location, and you can easily find one for a significantly lower price too.

The service here is amazing, the staff are professional and courteous. We stayed at the 4 Seasons Ritz Lisbon for 8 days in July 2023. The hotel is located in the business district of Lisbon and provides a wonderful view of the city all the way to the River Tagus. The rooms are good, Not great (there were several things that needed to be fixed in our room) but certainly nice. There is room service twice a day, which is nice, but also inconvenient at times. Example: We slept in one morning and had our do not disturb sign on the door and left our room at 10 am. When we returned at 6pm, we had not received any service to our room. When we called housekeeping we were told that if the sign is hung out, they skip the room completely. Really? Does this mean we have to leave the room by 8am to receive service each day? Although the cleaning staff were good, they weren’t great. One day they didn’t leave a bath mat, which is a big deal because the floors are a slick tile. Other times they forgot towels and / or other amenities. Not a big deal but for what this hotel costs it is unacceptable to receive less than 5 star service. The front desk staff and hotel bellman are outstanding! There is free Gelato in the front of the hotel, for hotel guests, almost daily- a nice touch.

We got the concierge to arrange it for us which they did. The cost for six of us for the whole day was 400 euros. We travelled around Lisbon, caiscai, sintra etc from 10am till about 6pm. We had lunch at a restaurant recommended by driver.
There are more places to choose from in the Lisbon area.
