A posh-looking hotel, a perfect walking-distance location from the Roma metro station, very friendly staff, great spacious rooms. But there had to be several mishaps from the start. Briefly: 1) We booked a room with a double bed well in advance. After a check-in we are coming to our designated floor and...into a room with two separate beds. Went straight back to the reception to find out that they have run out of rooms with double beds (a pandemic honeymoon weekend in the hotel?). Not a good enough excuse for a booking made beforehand! However, they upgraded us to a double bed after a short conversation. 2) The room we were given was so spacious! Enough space to dance and do somersaults, in fact. But...the lighting was totally inadequate and (maybe because of the Covid) a total lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room. This made my little tea-addicted self very upset. There was bottled water available, but for 2.50 euros per small bottle they can keep it. 3) Ridiculous prices at the bar. But that tea had to be drunk, what to do. 4)Restaurant. My oh my...Came down there for breakfast. The environment was good and clean, all good, all precautions in place. The procedure of the breakfast ordering was not explained properly(there were no menus available) - so after getting a very mildly disappointing continental-ish meal (with artificial ham and cheese and imitation juices) we were charged...30 euros! Oops, there goes another conversation with the management. They were really not much into paying attention to the details, however, we were offered a complimentary breakfast next morning. Which in its turn was up to standard! With hot food available and great service. So, what prevented the staff from doing it right in the first place for the first time - I don't know. 5) Electronic room keys were failing to work a couple of times. Not a big deal, just an extra run to the reception desk. Apart from all that - it was a good weekend stay.

A clean and spacious room, 306. Facing the street and the train station but a decent sized balcony and not noisy at night at all, we slept fine. The pillows are massive, one wasn’t enough for me, two was too many. I did ask for a thinner pillow but they don’t have any options so I used one of the bedspreads folded and it worked fine. You get shower gel and shampoo, a shower cap and soap. The room had a coffee machine but the coffee pods are chargeable, I think they were €1.75. Very good coffee all over central Lisbon at €1, but if you’re desperate... Good breakfast, no complaints at all. Reception staff were pleasant. We didn’t use the hotel’s bar or room service as there are so many options locally. I recommend walking 8-10 mins to Pastelaria Mexicana for toasted sandwiches, coffee and delicious pastries. Very good value. Hotel a few mins walk from Roma metro station that will whizz you into central Lisbon in about 5-6 stops. Booked via BA.com and made for a very good value and wnjoyable mini-break.

We had interconnecting rooms so there was enough space for our large luggage. However, if we didn’t have this option it would have been a tight squeeze to get everything in! The service is standard, there doesn’t seem to be much to write home about. I thought a smart design hotel might have a wow factor to it, but it’s just another hotel for an overnight stay before you head to your next destination.

I'm not certain what part of Lisbon you'd call the center. It seemed to me that there are several districts where you might want to shop, stroll or dine, separated by industrial zones. This hotel is right across from the Roma train station. Hint--if you walk from the hotel, turn left and go downhill and you'll have ticket booth and elevators, don't go right and walk across the top level! On the monring after a good night's sleep I wanted to get a bottle of good wine for friends we were visiting, so I walked around several blocks behind the hotel. It's an upscale neightborhood, and in a few blocks I found a great one with a truly helpful sales clerk (the people in Portugal are genuinely nice!). So I'd advise that you'll find some activity around this hotel, and you can sort through the train schedules to conveniently get to other places.

What time is check-in?
Answer from bolillo3912
Aug. 2019 |
Usually is 4.00pm but they do a lot of early check-in. At least in my case we were four peoples and me that received the room's keys at 0130. Just ask in reception, they are nice.
