The power went out, the bar was closed, the basement restaurant is not good and the small lodging room feels like the 1960s, but surely I can find something good to say about the experience of staying here? OK. I was happy to leave. Does that count? The price was low. That's a good thing. European hotel rooms are small. Lisbon is an old city. What did I expect? More. Better. Once the lobby remodeling is completed, whenever that will be, I hope they will be gutting the rooms and starting over, perhaps making two rooms into one. Not likely. The hotel is dark and tired, with finishes to match. There is no point in being more specific about the problems, since there are too many to list. I would stay elsewhere. In fact, I researched other options immediately after checking in and seeing our room. I don't think I have ever felt the need to do that before. Lower all your expectations and you may find this compromise of a property to be an acceptable option. I did not.…
Honestly we expected a little more. The lobby was fine as was the service by the staff, but the place needs a serious makeover. Very aged. Even in the rooms the TV was tiny, the room felt crowded, the bathrooms and the. Design were really old looking and kind of creepy. Not what I expected from an IHH hotel.
The amenities and rooms are ok, but the main asset of Holiday Inn Continental are their staff. Very friendly and accommodating, special mention to their Breakfast Attendant, who always welcomes you with a smile… it’s really perfect to start your day with a person that greets you with a smile… it gives a positive outlook to begin the day. Dinis is the guy. And well done to the rest of their staff!
Hotel is located near city centre. Can reach to the clubs and shopping area by uber and it cost less than 5 Euros. Breakfast and service was good. Rooms are small for 3 people. Either take 2 rooms or suite. Parking is free at night around the hotel.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located even though it isn't central but easily accessible via the metro. Also Uber rides to any of the city's main attractions are very affordable. Breakfast is very rich and exceeded our expectations with a hot buffet, fruits, breads and pastries and even a very decent GF selection. The hotel staff was very welcoming and made every effort to make our stay pleasant
I praise their policy with respect to kids very much. But the standard room to accommodate three is not extremely pleasant (somewhat small and with the extra bed not very comfortable). Noisy too (mostly because of the slamming doors, but also because of the planes, although that is a generic problem almost all over Lisbon). The gym was extremely basic. Breakfast was good (although crowded). Check in was also extremely slow.
I lived in this hotel for 3 nites only but i felt liked home. Start from the very nice Check In Counter staff who always say good morning and ask me how are you today? You can find the pictures of two ladies in my attachment. Good location, good foods for breakfast. Clean room. And big lobby with many sofas. Location is perfect you can find anything around the hotel such as bar, tapas, restaurants , pharmacy etc. Very very recommended
The beds were comfortable, including the extra futon. Excellent breakfast. The staffs were nice and friendly. We asked for a new bottle of soap, and the housekeeping quickly handled our request. The location was good, close to Metro station Campo Pequeno. We would have appreciated complimentary water bottles or water dispensers somewhere in the building, but it was a pleasant stay. Thank you!
We stayed at this hotel for the rock in Lisboa festival after being let down at short notice from another hotel. The room was of an excellent standard and the staff really helpful. The only thing that let it down was the lack of staff in the day to provide service at the bar and slow check in.
Visited as a family of 6. The stay was very pleasant. The breakfast is excellent, exactly what you need at the start of the day when you are going out to discover Lisbon. The location is perfect with access to public transport at your doorstep. We used Uber a lot and taxi fairs were reasonable from centre of Lisbon to the hotel. The hotel staff is very pleasant. However , one gentleman member of the staff Mr Diniz ( hope I got his name right) is an absolute gem. He is a perfect host. Met him twice during our stay ,once at the bar and second time in the breakfast hall. He is a perfect host. It's people who can make an good/average hotel look Excellent. Mr Diniz is such person. The younger staff should look up to him on how to work in hospitality sector. A simple smile can make a huge difference. …
