The Tivoli Oriente Lisboa Hotel charms guests with its thoughtful decorative touches and a generally pleasant atmosphere, despite certain areas showing signs of wear. With staff earning plaudits for their attentiveness and professionalism, the hotel's service shines, even as some guests note room for improvement in communication. The cleanliness of the hotel is widely acclaimed, particularly the fresh rooms. Its prime location is a winner, being close to transport, shops, and the airport. While the hotel's amenities, such as the breakfast and sky bar, are highlights, there are calls for enhancements around the pool and in-room details. Rooms are well-liked for their equipment and tidiness, yet a few guests point out minor maintenance issues.

My husband, 3 yr old son and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. We were visiting Lisbon to celebrate our wedding anniversary and sons birthday. The hotel gave us a lovely large, bright room on the top floor of the hotel with comfortable (if very slightly soft for my taste) king bed for us and a single for my son. I had emailed to ask if the childs bed was suitable to use with a bed guard rail - the kind that slides under the mattress to secure- they replied yes, with a photo of a rail to confirm they knew what i meant, and afterwards even provided us with a rail at no extra cost, so we didnt have to haul ours along, which i thought was going above and beyond. We arrived to a large bowl of lovely fresh fruit, and they even provided us with some soya milk each day left in the room for my dairy allergy son. We arrived early, our bags were stored so we could go and explore, and then taken to our room for us before we came back. We didn't have chance to try the breakfast, but there were many cafes, restaurants and food stands nearby and in the station next door, The location was fab, right next door to Oriente station where we could get the metro to anywhere in the city easily. The room was quiet, and had a small lobby type area between the bedroom and the outer door, where the bathroom was also located, which meant we could shut both doors if it was noisy, but it never was. it also gave a good separation between the bedroom and bathroom. There was a large tv with cable channels in most languages, a kettle and Nespresso machine (3 Nespresso caps free per day), well stocked mini bar fridge, that you could also keep small items in if necessary. Plenty of clothes storage - hanging space and drawers. The bathroom had a large basin, toilet, bidet and bath with waterfall shower over it. My son loved his big bath, and the shower was so relaxing. The hairdryer was powerful enough and there was a lit magnifying make up mirror. On our anniversary the hotel, with no prompting, brought up a bottle off fizz, strawberries, and chocolate truffles which were delicious and very much appreciated. All communications were answered promptly and with helpful info. There was pool/gym/jacuzzi /showers and sauna on the 2nd floor, the pool was warm and large towels were provided. The area of Parque das nações was lovely, it has an oceanarium, science museum, cable car, shopping centre, restaurants, gardens and we spent a good amount of time exploring. We also easily took the metro down to Bairro Alto / Alfama areas, and saw the sights of old Lisbon, We needed more time and didnt get around to everything we wanted to, but that just gives me an extra reason to return, we will definitely stay at the Tivoli Oriente when we do. thank you again to Sofia and the staff who helped make our visit wonderful.

On arrival Manuel who welcomed us was nice and friendly and very helpful.

If you want to use the pool make sure you ask at reception as you need to book the swimming pool. It was slightly annoying that you need to go down to reception to collect the key and towels then back up again and the elevators are very slow, one was out of action and quite a few people staying at the hotel. Prepare for long waits.

We choose the hotel for the location as we were going to the aquarium. I would normally stay in the centre which is much nicer. The hotel is Close to the train station and to the shopping centre, cable car etc good location to access all amenities and also you could get the train into the centre easily. Very convenient to have a car park under the hotel.

The sky bar looked very nice but we didn’t go as our youngest is 2.

The hotel room we were in was a little dated and we are a family of 4 and they prepared the room for 2 people for example only two towels only one bed we had to call up after a day out asking for more towels and the sofa to be made up I know not a huge problem but when you have booked and paid 223 euro a night these are things that should have been done.when I called reception to ask for the bed etc to be made she answered the phone by saying ‘ yes’ as I as a guest was disturbing her

The sofa bed is very uncomfy and we did not have a good night sleep.

Breakfast... it was shocking we gave up in the end and walked out. One chef trying to cook all the hot food for all the guests in the hotel. They would have been better to do table service as everyone is standing in cues and it took a long time to get a drink.

Manuel again at reception on checkout was brilliant and helpful.

I love Lisbon and this was my first trip abroad since lockdown in March 2020. I travelled with my 11 year old grandson and after arriving on the flight from Scotland , it was a short metro ride to the Tivoli, hotel a minute walk from the entrance to the station! Perfect.

Our room was On The 13Th floor, overlooking the river, fabulous views, although the outer windows could be cleaner to get a clearer view. The room was nice with a wardrobe and safe inside it. Good amount of storage. Beds were comfortable and pillows too. Had good quality sleep as no noise to disturb us. The bathroom was a shower o er the bath and felt the bathroom could do with an upgrade to a walk in shower. Apart from that thought the room suited our needs adequately. The breakfast was good selection and grandson loved the pool. We did not use the restaurant as felt too expensive and nothing suitable for the taste of an 11 year old. We went to the food hall In the nearby shopping centre. I would definitely return here again. The staff were lovely and friendly.

A special thank you to Sofia for making our stay so memorable.
Me and my wife have just got back from a three night stay at the Tivoli Oriente to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I asked the hotel if they could do something with the room to make it special for my wife, this is when Sofia got involved.
Sofia asked if I would like a theme so I replied pearl and left the rest to her, there were obviously a few emails in-between which were always responded to promptly.
When we arrived our room had rose petals scattered on the floor from the door leading to the bedroom ending on the bed where she had created two swans out of towels with the necks and heads forming a heart. There was a massive 30 balloon above the bed and various other helium pear coloured balloons in the room along with a bottle of fizz in an ice bucket with pearls mixed into the ice, photos of us on our wedding day and pastries. Later in the evening room service delivered a complimentary bottle of Port and some more pastries.
Thank you Sofia and your team.
Now to the hotel, on check in the young man who checked us in couldn't have been more helpful and was discreet enough not to mention the surprise for my wife. The room wasn't ready for us to check-in due to the time spent decorating it so we were given vouchers for complimentary drinks at the sky bar which was an unexpected pleasant surprise as we were heading there anyway.
The sky bar offers fantastic views across the river and is located on the 16th floor. We visited it on several occasions during our stay, it's not the cheapest but the view and atmosphere is worth those couple of extra euros in my opinion.
All the staff throughout the hotel are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay memorable for all the right reasons.
On our last day our flight got cancelled and we were allocated a later one, reception were good enough to extend our check out until 2pm, they also stored our cases in a secure room until we were ready to collect them.
The location is perfect, an €8 taxi ride from the airport it is adjacent to the main train/metro station and bus station. The area is modern and quite with plenty of places to eat yet the centre of historical Lisbon is only a €12 taxi journey away. We didn't use public transport as the taxis were so cheap.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough for service, location and value for money.

Nice hotel very close to the airport, so transfer is easy. I decided to take a taxi for €10, though could have taken Metro (10 minutes) or even walked downhill for 30 mins. Room on 7th floor was clean and i liked the waste basket split into four recycling containers for each different material. Nice big walk in shower and spacious bathroom.

Reception staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful. I was there on business and their catering for coffee with snacks and lunch were excellent. Very helpful in getting us speakers and a microphone when the conference next door got too noisy.

Noticed that local restaurants don't tend to open until 7pm which is a bit late for me, so ate in the roof top restaruant. Not a huge selection of food as it is designed to be more a Tapas type place, but for Japanese food. Still good and tasty and price was reasonable.

Like some other reviews, be warned that when the hotel is busy, as it was for two days i was there, you can be waiting a while for one of the only two lifts which serve all 14 floors when going for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, a really good selection of food types.

Located close to the Oriente station for the Metro and above ground railways. Also 5 minute walk to the sea front for really good views of the bay. Didn't have time to get on the metro to explore the city centre, but would use this hotel as a base away from the hustle and bustle.

The rooms are a little outdated and a little small. The sliding doors of the closet don't slide anymore and the safe is a little small to fit a laptop. If you want to plug a phone/watch charger in the socket next to your bed, you have to unplug the lamp since there's only one socket. There is a shower/bath combination so you'll have to climb into the bath to take a shower. The breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel immediately after the quarantine restrictions changed between England and Portugal and I was not disappointed. This hotel was superb and offered first-class service in every department and showed the utmost care needed for the present day Covid restrictions. The personal service it showed cannot be faulted. breakfast was excellent and showed great choice with great fried eggs! Thank you.

one of the best hotel in lisbon in terms of location just across the street of a shopping center in the area. just a few walks from the train station. 10-20 minutes drive from the airport. and with accommodating and friendly hotel staff. the room is always maintained clean with free wifi, and for me kettle is one of the most important necessity that they have in the hotel.

Tivoli Oriente Hotel & Resort
Room 1519
Lisbon, Portugal
7-9 July 2023

5 stars for its cleanliness!

Reception: It was very disappointing that it was not possible to have an early check in. We advise to schedule your flight with an arrival at 14:00 or later during the day if you are on vacation.

Special thanks to Juan (trainee) at the reception who was very helpful answering my husband’s inquiries.

Room and bathroom: Very clean and fresh smelling! Room, towels and linens were dustfree. We got fresh towels every day. The room has all the needed amenities (hairdryer, tissue paper, body gel, shampoo and conditioner).

Breakfast: The staff was professional. Each was assigned a particular task (clearing the plates, cleaning the table and putting new plates/cups/cutlery). Great and effective system indeed. The breakfast selections were standard for breakfast to start your day. For eggs, you could order sunny side up and omelette. The coffee/cappucino maker was working. These are plus factors indeed for breakfast! Recommendation: It would be great to have freshly baked croissant and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Location: Very accessible to the train station and a shopping mall called Vasco Da Gama. The sightseeing bus is just around the corner.

Price: Reasonable

Overall: Recommended!

This is a nice business hotel steps from the Oriente station, a major transportation hub in LIsbon. The room I got was 1017, a room with a view of the river and the Vasco da Gama bridge. The room was large, clean and well appointed. I arrived very early and they offered an early check in for a fee of 45 euros. All very convenient. Didn’t use any of the facilities but the reception staff was wonderful. I will definitely be back!
