Without exaggeration, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I stay in hotels a lot, often in much more expensive ones.

The hotel and the rooms are very nicely decorated, with a lot of attention to detail in all sorts of places. Nothing is worn, shabby or chipped, everything is in top condition, as if it had just opened.

The staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful and have the perfect answer to every question. This is not the professional politeness of the big chain hotels (which is of course fine), but a genuine friendliness that comes from the heart.

The breakfast is great, you can order from a selection of egg dishes and hot drinks and there is also a well-stocked buffet.

The numerous other amenities cannot be listed exhaustively, so here is just a small selection:
- when we arrived in the morning we were offered a cappuccino and a little something to eat
- after we had moved into our rooms we were brought pastéis de nata (warm custard tarts)
- in the room there is also a minibar, the first filling of which is free, a capsule coffee machine with accessories, almond liqueur with a whole lemon and coffee beans and instructions on how to make a local drink
- other typical snacks and sweets

At least in February the price/performance ratio was incredibly good. I think the hotel costs a little more in the season, but that is undoubtedly reasonable.

The location in the middle of Alfama is convenient, you are right in the center of the action with a nice selection of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The famous tram line 28 stops nearby, but the cars are sometimes quite full as it is very popular with tourists for sightseeing tours. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down to the main street.

The hotel can also be reached by taxi; Lisbon taxi drivers are fearless and have experience with the conditions in Alfama. I wouldn't dare drive there myself though; if you're arriving with a rental car, it's better to leave it somewhere else.

The hotel restaurant is also very good; we went there for dinner and it's definitely not to be missed. Here too, the hotel stays true to itself: guests receive a free bottle of red wine with their meal.

My wife and I stayed at the SÃO VICENTE hotel in Lisbon and absolutely loved it. We chose to stay there based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Rooms were large, comfortable, clean, and extremely quiet as the hotel is in an area that is not frequented by traffic (only taxis and those in the neighborhood can access the property). The staff were very friendly and provided great recommendations about restaurants and things to see/do. They even provided a one hour free walking tour of Alfalma which was informative and enjoyable. As others have mentioned, the breakfast was fantastic. The hotel provided an assortment of buffet style options or you could order from a prefixed menu. We were very pleased with this hotel property and would highly recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful two nights stay at this stylish small hotel while visiting Lisbon and I would love to return. The reception area is very welcoming with much appreciated cold fruit water on tap and a little snack to sustain you. The reception team are excellent and always available for help and advice. We had the silver room which was just off reception. It was a very comfortable good sized modern room with a basement shaded terrace. We received a gift in our room as it was our anniversary which was very much appreciated. We took breakfast outside on the breakfast room’s small terrace. Breakfast was lovely with a fabulous choice. Everything was beautifully presented. The staff were so helpful. We loved staying in the Alfama area as there were lovely traditional bars and restaurants around which we could walk to. However if you do not enjoy or find walking difficult this area may not be good for you.

The beds are extremely comfortable with choice of good pillows. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed with robes, slippers, bar fridge and filtered water replenished daily. Very quiet & convenient location. There is a cute family restaurant opposite.
Breakfast is superb with a huge variety, juices, fresh fruit, cereals, meats & cheeses, wonderful bread and pastries including pastel da nata, and a good selection of hot dishes cooked freshly to order. Good coffee with regular and non- dairy milk available and of course fantastic ready to help with food or tourist information. Joana was on hand in the breakfast room most mornings to help with tourist information.
This is the best boutique hotel we have stayed in, after 25 years holidaying around the world.

I only stayed at this hotel one night, my last night before leaving from my Portugal trip, but even in that short time, I could see it is a special place.

A couple caveats:
1) I took the train in from Porto and saw the hotel was only a 15 min. walk. Just a note that it's almost all uphill, and when it's really hot out and you have luggage, it just feels heavier and heavier during the climb. Also, the hotel is down a bunch of stairs (depending on how you approach). Alas, not their fault, but just to prep you.
2) I left very early in the a.m. so I didn't get to test their full breakfast offerings.

Now to the good:
- Included mini bar - local products
- Treats in the room
- Unlimited access to drinking water
- I booked a gold room and it had ample space and was very comfortable
- The bathroom products (also local) smell delicious
- Julie at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. I was merely chatting on my way to shop and mentioned a couple places I wanted to hit up before I caught my flight. Without asking, she starting mapping things out to help me. Every interaction felt welcoming
- While I didn't have the regular breakfast, the hotel packaged me a box - it was beyond ample with sandwiches, fruit, waters
- Although it was rough navigating with my luggage, when I headed out to hit up some different spots, having the train station close was helpful - it's also got the subway stop so it was super easy to zip around to downtown and back (much easier to walk up those hills without 50 pounds of baggage)

In all, a nice place to stay!

The hotel was lovely and welcoming - the staff there were really attentive. The room was a really good size, very clean with one of the comfiest beds I have slept in (and great pillows too). The minibar was complimentary for the first use which was a nice surprise and they brought me a kettle and fresh milk for my regular cup of English tea! A really good choice at breakfast with a freshly cooked menu too in a restaurant/breakfast area with a small terrace. On my husband's birthday we were treated to cake with a candle, the happy birthday song and 2 glasses of champagne - a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend a stay at this great boutique hotel.

My husband and I received a wonderful treatment at the São Vicente Alfama Hotels. Nice and personal staff offered wine at check-in and then showed the room personally. I celebrated a birthday during the stay and after a day on the town I was greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine - a lovely surprise indeed!
The room was very fresh and spacious, the breakfast excellent with the possibility to order hot breakfast dishes from the menu. The cleaning was also absolutely perfect. We are very satisfied and can really recommend hotel São Vicente.🌻

I was a little nervous about staying at this hotel since the Alfama area is so hilly and wondering how I could get from the station to the hotel with my luggage. Of course, taxis, uber and bolt are always available, but I do like to use public transportation. Walking routes from Santa Apolonia showed all stairs and all uphill. Fortunately, an app finally showed me a bus route that was convenient with minimum walking up hill. Take the 734 bus from Santa Apolonia to Voz Operario and then it’s a 4 minute walk slightly downhill. I got a room on the first floor and thought it might be noisy since it is right next to the front desk, but it turned out to be quiet. My room faced the street and it had a small balcony. It gave me that European feel. There was a little noise on the street one night, but I was able to go back to sleep. The front desk was very helpful with recommendations and calling a taxi. They provide complimentary drinks and snacks in the room and replenish it the next day. I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.

A lovely boutique hotel set in the old part of Lisbon, Alfama. We were greeted on arrival with a complimentary glass of wine and cake and by friendly reception staff . Our room was lovely, very spacious with lots of modern touches. Great variety of continental food for breakfast and in addition hot food was cooked to order. All staff in the hotel were welcoming, helpful, friendly and made all guests feel special. We could not recommend this hotel more highly. Location of hotel was good close to Castelo de Sao Jorge and Sao Vicente de Fora and an easy down hill walk to sea front and other areas of interest. Although the tram ran within a couple of minutes from the hotel it was always exceptionally busy, in fact we never found a stop where you could get on without the crowds. We bought a Lisboa transport and attraction ticket which was very good value. The hotel is within the winding streets of Alfama and so we used a licensed taxi to take us from the airport which cost around 15 euros. When we return to Lisbon we would certainly stay at this hotel.

We were 4 couples who stayed there from 25 to 29 January. Although we had read many good reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised how nice it actually was. The rooms were incredibly beautiful, the breakfast was great + could order many hot dishes + incredibly good service, also there. They obviously had contact with a small transport company that we ordered to and from the airport and a few other places. Was tipped by an employee at the hotel about a nice tour in the area around Lisbon. It was also a success + very nice drivers.

One late evening they opened a small patio outside the breakfast room and served us something to drink. Even then, it was only smiles and good service to make us happy.

Also well located. Only 15 minutes to walk down to the centre. Also restaurants, smaller shops and several sights nearby.

Would definitely recommend this hotel + all 8 of us agreed that this was a great hotel we would love to stay at again.

We had a taxi come straight to the hotel front door. I know the street in front of the hotel is restricted. Not sure if the city allows Uber or Bolt drivers. But if they don’t, you can get a taxi right at the hotel.
