Hotel is a great location for sightseeing round Lisbon. We spent Easter there and couldn't have booked a more central hotel for wandering round. To be honest, we didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were out and about every day but the staff on reception were very polite and knowledgeable especially Manuel who gave us lots of...

This hotel is not a luxury option but it is extremely well located and very well maintained and kept. We were giving a great room and enjoyed a ver calm stay, with excellent service from the staff. The parking in Restauradores is very convenient for an affordable price. Very satisfied!

We recently spent 3 nights in Lisbon and stayed at the Residencial Florescente. First, the location is perfect. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the metro station. It's very centrally located in Lisbon, however, the street is a pedestrian only street, so you don't have any traffic. There are dozens of little cafes/bars/restaurants on the street. You can...

This is a great budget hotel, mostly because of location. It's in the heart of the city, with easy access to public transportation, but we ended up walking most places-- great! Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a lack of hot water (persisted for 48 hours), with indefinite responses on potential times to fix or ways they could better accommodate...

This is a really pleasant tourist class hotel in Lisbon. Great location within a couple of minutes walking to the metro, bus lines and many popular squares. Loads of restaurants very close by...lots of choices. The room was small but clean. The only two minor issues are poorly working AC which we didn't really need and the first night the...

This was a great location for a few days in Lisbon. Close to everything. We stayed in a deluxe room facing the street. The room was great. The only negative would be it was very noisy at night. But that is also what made the location great. The breakfast room had great service and really good coffee. Food was what...

Right in the heart of the old town, we were able to walk lots. The room was clean, the bathroom was bigger than the room and everything worked properly. The breakfast included was nice too. Beds were comfortable. There was construction outside the hotel which was loud but this is not their fault. Street noise carries a little but not...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
