Great hotel in a great location, right where you want to be in Lisbon. Super clean, great bathroom, nice beds. Although it was on a busy foot street, the shades and heavy wooden shutters blocked out all noise and light. Great experience in Lisbon!

Stayed here for a second time, paid 50 euros for a double for 3 nights in Nov. Very large room by European standards, good hot water for 10 minute showers, with bathtub, bidet. Firm, new mattress, clean and very quiet despite front room on main street. Above average breakfast (cold cereal, yogurt, sliced meats and cheese, toast, pineapple slices and...

loved this hotel for the cheap price. Nothing fancy, but in a busy area with access to outside cafes for early evening and close enough to everything else. Off Avenue de Liberdade and 5 minute walk to the restaurantes metro. 2 of the elevadors are within 5 minutes as well. We had 2 couples in 2 rooms - and the...

When you arrive at the hotel you´ll have the feeling that you´re in the wrong place. That´s because you know what one usually gets with rates as low as what you´re paying. But in a moment you´ll see that it is true. I´m not talking about any luxury hotel, but a very nice service, elevator, large rooms and bathrooms, simple...

The location was excellent, the staff was very helpful, and the room was great with two “balconies” and a huge bathroom. You could not ask for more of a hotel with a relatively low price in the heart of everything. The breakfast was fine and included in the price. The only problem, and it was a major one, was the...

We only had a night here. The staff was very obliging. We arrived early and were jet lagged and got an early entry into our room. The room fronted a very busy pedestrian street with lots of nightlife. We enjoyed the view from our room, but it was VERY noisy at night. So I suggest requesting a back room. I...

What I love about this hotel is the location. It is so close to cafes, eateries, 2 mins walk to Rossio square, i min walk to Hard Rock Cafe (for Inside Lisbon daytrip pickup), 1 min. walk to Post office, 10 mins walk to Elevador de Santa Justa, Praque de Commercio, Starting station of Tram 28, with a supermarket closeby...

The hotel itself is ok, the room was fine, however... the bed was hard as a rock, and the hotel is located on the "eating lane" which is a pedestrian street with a ton of restaurants...great to go to eat...terrible to stay...there was terribly loud noise and music playing until 3 in the morning, sometimes later...it was horrible...we were on...

We stayed in a double bed room at the back of the hotel. We didn't notice street noise but the walls are quite thin. We didn't notice this untill 6am each morning when the man in the room next to us coughed badley for 30 minutes. Not too much of a problem though. Hotel was nicely decorated. There is free...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
