I highly recommend this hotel due to its wonderful staff and excellent location. So much of Lisbon was easily accessible by foot and a charming pedestrian street was down the road. The staff was eager to offer tips and suggestions. The facilities were simple but clean and comfortable. Wonderful value for the price.

Way too expensive according to what it offers. Very small rooms. Very poor breakfast. Lousy staff. But near good spots specially shopping and entertainment (theaters). Hard Rock Cafe is also nearby. Nice but expensive places to eat nearby.

I stayed here for my mates 40th weekend and it was a lovely hotel. The location was very central five minutes walk from the tube station and only 10 minutes up a steep hill to barro alto where there were lots of nice restaurants and bars. The breakfast was a very lovely as it consisted of croissant's, bread, eggs, tea, coffee and... More

What I loved most about it was the location. It is on a parallel street with Avenida da Liberdade, 2 minutes from Praça dos Restauradores. There's the subway nearby, a Padaria Portuguesa for breakfast/lunch/dinner (we didn't try the breakfast at the hotel, which was free) and close to anything you could possibly want to visit in the centre - Rossio,... This is a small guest house in Rossio station area. A few steps from many restaurants and public transports. The room arte for a single room was 42€ breakfast included. There is free wifi in the lobby but not in the room.

Excellent location, about 5 minutes from metro stop and well situated for restaurants. Staff very professional and helpful. Breakfast was adequate with breads, pastries, and cheese along with fruit juice, cereal, and, of course, hot beverages. WiFi worked only in lobby, but as there was plenty of seating we never had a problem other than the inconvenience of having to... More

The hotel is in a good location in the heart of the restaurants area and is a decent jumping-off point for getting around. It was clean and quiet. The staff were generally helpful. Would I stay again? Possibly. The breakfast, however, was just rubbish. It was bread and butter - that was it. Seriously. I realise this was supposed to... More

Dear Madam, Breakfast is served from 7:30 until 10:30 and includes: juice, coffee, tea, milk and chocolate; bread rolls, sliced bread and croissants; butter, cheese and a variety of jams. Exceptionally, and when possible, early breakfast is served with what is available. When you made the reservation it was clearly stated that wifi was only available on the ground floor... More

Pensao Residencial Portuense is in an excellent location. Very close to bus, metro, museums and shopping. It is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. The only improvement I would recommend is better mattresses. Too Hard for my taste.

I booked Pensao Residencial Portuense for a stag group of 17 and everyone thought this place was great. The rooms were very cheap and clean - they were ideal for anyone just looking for somewhere to rest their head and enjoy Lisbon. Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
