I have stayed 3 night there in April and it was wonderful. Even though the hostel doesn't accept children (and is not stated anywhere) the lovely receptionist went out of her way to accommodate us. The rooms are clean, they seems to have a but of OCD :) but that could only benefit the tourists. Very polite and helpful staff....

Been last month. The location is worth its price. In fact, for such a spot I was willing to pay more. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Your things are safe, and you are literally in the very center of all attractions of lisbon. Very with it!

The rooms were small and not soundproff at all. With that said the hostel was really nice. The staff was very friendly and they were cleaning all the time! I have never stayed in any hostel, hotel or apartment as clean as this hostel. The kitchen had what was needed. The location is simply perfect! Our view from the room...

Cannot recommend this place enough! Absolutely fantastic! The price was incredible so me and my mate were very sceptical. However, we were totally bowled over! We had our own room with two single beds, wardrobe, and an awesome view of the city centre. It's shared showers and kitchen which is absolutely fine. But on our floor we only shared with...

Fantastic place where to spend few days in Lisbon. The owner and staff are nice and very kind. The room and the bathroom are clean always. Tram 28 and metro station are near the hostel. Four floor without elevator is hard but the hostel is in center of everything 5 min by walk to arrive to the alfama or 8...

We chose this from booking.com it was very easy and they communicated well by email. The staff are very friendly. We arrived in the early hours 1am and this was no problem. The room was v clean and cheerful as were the facilities. Location is fantastic. I would say could not have been better. One negative is the noise. We...

We stayed for 3 nights, the journey from the airport on the metro is straight forward. Very basis accommodation with shared bathroom, but very clean and bathrooms kept spotless. Good quality fresh bedding. Excellent kitchen facilities. Staff very helpful. We stayed on the 5th floor, so were kept fit with the stairs but the views from our balcony were brilliant....

This hostel has a great location, close to tourist sites, tram stations, and metro. The owner and staff are quite friendly and keep the place clean and nice. Things that might be cons: it's right off a main street and can be noisy (people, garbage & delivery trucks, trams, etc.) since you'll want to keep your windows open on warm...

The room was really small, but it was clean and cozy. The location is perfect. You are right beside the big street with all the shops and very near everything else. It's a great place to stay when you're city tripping. The kitchen and bathroom are very clean as well. Too bad the toaster didn't work. We could get a...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
