This hotel is very good - good staff, good room, clean, good Internet access, excellent bath. And is location distinguishes it from others: near the Chiado, where most good restaurants are, but in a bit less plenty of people place.

Lisboa Carmo hotel is in a great location in the center of town, so all the main sights are walkable (if you don't mind hills). Very cute square nearby, good restaurant with friendly and multi-lingual staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent with a great view of the old castle & close to everything. It was also the most comfortable bed we slept in on this trip. The staff were so attentive, polite and helpful. We had problems with our hire car and they went out of their way to...

Only one night but without any doubt it will be our hotel next time. 10 in every parameter: location, design, quality of the bed, the room, the bathroom, the staff, the breakfast. We loved it very much!

Brilliant stay at a wonderful, central hotel. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was absolutely huge, and the shower was really good. It's so conveniently located, too, a short walk from everything you need. Breakfasts were also amazing! And to top it all off, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely recommended!

Wonderful hotel situated in the centre of the city. Stayed in room 503 on the top floor. Fantastic views and huge bedroom. No bathroom to speak of (shower and bath in main room) so its a rather intimate experience! Unfortunately the bed (for our romantic trip away) was two singles pushed together rather than a double so It would be...

This hotel is easily found just a 5 minute (uphill) walk from the central train station - get the bus from the airport, it's easier than the train. Just 1 minute from the Victorian elevator. A fantastic, good size corner room on the top floor (room 503), with a standalone bath in the bedroom. The toilet is in its own...

They will go above and beyond, offered one free breakfast, let us check in early, gave great advice on area and booked dinner and attractions for us. Great location (be ready for stairs in Lisbon) and do an escape hunt for fun. Portuguese tarts to die for.

My partner and I had visited Lisbon a couple of months ago for the first time. We could never have wished for a better place to stay. We were made to feel at home and given all the help we needed and more . Thank you all. Especially the amazing Miguel and the young lady in the restaurant .

Great hotel, very nice staff. Car was parked on arrival and delivered to the door on departure. Lovely big room and very comfortable bed. Great pillows. Slept really well. We enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast was great - lots of choice. We would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
