The hotel is in the heart of Lisbon. The room is comfortable, looking normal. Its not high standard hotel but we cant ask more for such price. Close to hotel there is supermarket and lots of restaurants.

Had an excellent experience in this hotel. Location is fantastic, minutes from the metro and easy access to local bars and restaurants and other points of interest. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the WiFi was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was basic, but decent. Would 100% stay here again when I return to this amazing... Very good location. No traffic outside. Renovated rooms. However the walls are made of thin boards. You hear the people in the next room talking! We were lucky to have no neighbours. The breakfast is reorganised and works better. But it is very basic. And why are the boiled eggs like concrete? There are things missing in the rooms. No... More

Publicity for this place written by a fantasist. Room small, noisy , gloomy - bathroom fittings insecure and inadequate. Breakfast from 8-11 but get there at 9 and buffet has nearly all gone and is not replenished. Our most depressing hotel experience ever.Basically hostel rooms over a supermarket.

Excellent place to stay... in Center of Lisboa, not far from train station and plaza Rossio. surrounded by restaurants all around. not too far from river TAGE. No surprises here - very basic, affordable, clean hotel, right off of Rossio Square. It was surprisingly quiet, check in/ check out was quick, and I loved the location - really, right in the heart of the city. Pedestrian friendly. Safe. All round pleasantly surprised.

A very central city centre hotel, close to open top tourist buses , Railway Station, Metro, shops and restaurants. Only breakfast is served in this hotel, which is not a problem, as one tends to be out and about during the day, where there are a wide selection of eating places. Tea lovers bring your own tea bags, as the... More

We booked this hotel due to its good location near Rossio Station in Lisbon. The location is in Bairro Baixo which is a beautiful neighborhood and very convenient. Unfortunately, the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. We arrived at 1500 in the afternoon and had to wait outside our room for an hour for it to be ready although... More

My room (305) was a bit to worn out, but it was quiet and clean. No fridge in room. Some rooms were refurnished (according to friends), but mine really needs a work over. Breakfast was ok. Location very good.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
