Luis was the best thing about Zuzabed - he is Zuzabed! On arrival Luis sat with us for a few minutes and went through all the information we'd need to make the most of our stay. He was friendly, charming and funny. The room was great - very cosy and clean. The communal area is faultless - it felt like...

This have been our best experience. What other tripAdvisor member tell about ZuzaBed is exactly what we have found: an ambience familiar and friendly in a good position and not dangerous, where people choose to "live" there because only there you can find and live the great Lisbon Life. We usually have had breakfast at 8.30 and we staied there...

Location: central, easily accesible to mass transit or taxis Interior: tastefully decorated Breakfast: delicious I stayed at the Terrace Castle room, the views were gorgeous. But what makes Zuzabed special is how helpful Luis is to every single guest. A bit of advise, go to Lisbon, stay at the charming Zuzabed for a few nights so you get to experience...

You arrive at Zuzabed expecting a nice place with a great host, you leave feeling as though you are leaving home and family behind. I know a lot of reviewers have already gushed over Luis, but this is a man who truly loves what he does and loves his guests. He introduced us to his city and his country in...

When you go on the website you can see how lovely the rooms are - they are exactly like they are in the pictures! The views from the terrace are absolutely stunning! Luis, the owner, is every bit as informative, friendly and welcoming as the other reviews of Zuzabed will tell you and the breakfast is gorgeous too. The idea...

Everything you have read is true. Luis was an amazing host. He loves his city, he loves his guests, and that combination results in a unique and fabulous experience. The location was perfect, despite the fact that the cab driver couldn't figure out where to let us out. Make sure you take Luis's instructions and make sure the cab driver...

Our extended family stayed at Zuzabed for four nights at the beginning of a fantastic two-week trip to Portugal and the Azores. I'm generally not a "B&B person," but couldn't resist booking our rooms after reading the rave reviews on TripAdvisor. What a great decision! It was the ideal home from which to explore Lisbon and Sintra -- an excellent...

Our trip was back in April, but the memory of a wonderful stay with a spectacular host lingers still and we couldn't let another day go by without adding our voice to the chorus of praise for this place and Luis, Portugal's best ambassador. We are now planning our return and will make "Luisbon" and Zuzabed an annual must-do!

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
