This was the fourth time I have stayed here, and unfortunately for the first half of my stay, a room was not available. Ah! The personal cost of writing an honest review. Location, quality of lodging, staff, etc. could not be better and I have covered all this in previous reviews and keep coming back to stay at my "home" in Lisboa. The owner/innkeeper Patrick is a most gracious host and most of the staff are university students (grad and undergrad) that enrichen the stay. Of course, Marcone is central to all - like the conductor of an orchestra, he keeps things running smoothly on a daily basis and is always there if his help is needed. Sebastio was here again, helping me with my Portuguese pronounciation - and he has language skills that he has learned the basics of many languages to greet and help the international guests. I was happy that Rui had returned from the north, and worked with him on the Portugal pronounciation of his name as opposed to the "new" Rui, from Brasil, who helped me also with pronounciation Portuguese is not an easy tongue. :o) Andre was new from Brasil and Lorena was new, both of them, along with the two Rui s, Sebastio, Marcone were all wonderful - with language discussions, intellectual discussions and information as needed. The quality of the staff adds much to the value of the stay. I look forward to seeing them all when I return. The only new physical change since last I was here, were new shower heads in all bathrooms - the "rain and regular showerheads" in all - very wonderful. Of course, the separate guest kitchen is large and practical. Breakfasts are quite good an provide an opportunity to connect with guests from all over the world. I love Skylofts!…
Well furnished, nice, clean, near the metro station. Very young and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Ceilings too low in the rooms. Excellent breakfast service on request also for early departures.
This hotel is centrally located just by the Parque metro station, so it's easy to get to from the airport and to move around town. The staff is really friendly and the hotel has cool decorations. Our room was a good size, but it has slanted ceilings which are a challenge when you are tall - it was hard to move around in the room. The door to our room was warped and there were gaps between the door and the frame - we could hear everything that was happening in the hallway outside and the bathroom next door, which was slightly annoying. I'm a light sleeper and needed earplugs. I'd say the room was good value for the money, though, as it was clean, the staff friendly and in a good location.
Third time I have stayed here , not enough superlatives to describe Skylofts. First location - could not be better located - across the street from a Post Office, around the corner from grocery store (Pingo Doce), 100 Meters from the Parc Metro Station, Outstanding pharmacy across the street, El Corte Ingles Shopping Center 200 meters, etc. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The number of bathrooms versus the number of guest rooms, works out quite well, and the bathrooms are kept in an immaculate condition, as is the rest of the Guest House. The breakfasts are very good, generous, the coffee is outstanding, and offer a good occasion to meet your fellow guests. To top everything off, the entire staff, most of them University students, add a touch that makes Skylofts absolutely the top of Guest Houses. First of all, there is Patrick, the owner. Though he is often very busy between the two guest houses, he is most welcoming and gracious, and should you need extra help, he is there for you. Then there is Marconi, who keeps everything running smoothly - from the time before breakfast, insuring that all is in order in the public areas, to insuring everything is well presented at breakfast, to insuring any problems are resolved. He is always helpful, welcoming, and a joy to interact with. I could also go on and on about the front desk staff, who are always there to help with everything from destinations to pronounciations to transportation requests. This time again, there was Sebastio, who in addition to helping me with my Portuguese pronounciation, indulged me in interesting conversations about everything from education to culture to day-to-day life in Portugal. It was great seeing him again Then there was Miguel from the Acores, with whom I also had interesting conversations about everything, including chemical engineering. Mafalda was also wonderful in conversation and help. All helped make the stay delightful.…
Great location, it's nearby a supermarket and a park and a small walk to the metro station. The room was lovely, so neat and cute and that bed sooo comfortable. The guy at the check in desk was very nice and helpful. Gave me a tour of the place and showed me where everything was. Really appreciated it. Wish I got his name, great service on his part. Really liked the breakfast too, had a bit of everything in there to satisfy all your needs! Next time I go back to Lisbon I'm definitely staying there again.
