Stayed at this hotel for five nights from the 9th to the 14th March 2020, me, my husband, my sister and her husband, we had an amazing time discovering Lisbon and this hotel was the perfect base. The hotel is in the centre of everything, 3 minutes to Praça do Figueira and the Rossio Metro and Train stations and 5 minutes to Praça do Comércio, a large, historic square on the banks of the River Tagus. The hotel is right in the heart of the restaurants and shops and a short walk to all the tram and bus stops. My brother in law and I were both celebrating birthdays and were treated with chocolates and wine and birthday greetings by the front desk team and restaurant staff, everyone working at the hotel was very helpful, friendly and informative, they couldn’t have been nicer. The rooms and general areas were very clean, and hand sanitizers were everywhere, we were there when the coronavirus scare started in Portugal and the cleanliness made everyone feel very secure. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice in the continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast choice too, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. If you’re thinking of a stay in Lisbon the Hotel Lis Baixa is a brilliant hotel choice.

We read the reviews before booking the hotel. Many of them mentioned the tiny rooms, so we requested a higher grade. The room was a good size and it was comfortable. It was a bit old, but that didn't decrease the comfort.

When we entered the hotel, we received a warm and friendly greeting from Diana and Eugenia (sp?) at the front desk. They immediately made us feel welcomed. They are terrific ambassadors for the hotel. They made us feel that we made the right decision in selecting the hotel.

Our flight brought from the U.S. brought us to the hotel at 11 a.m., so we were not allowed to enter out room prior to 2 p.m., but we were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk and use the ground floor bathrooms.

The hotel is located near the center of activity. It is only two blocks away and it is down a quiet narrow street. We could hear a person in a neighboring room who had a loud laugh. Thankfully, she did not stay up late.

The breakfast was fine, but not great.

While booking the hotel, we asked for a suggestion on getting from the airport to the hotel. They booked us with a car service, The fee was €25 and in cash only. A driver was supposed to meet us after we passed through customs. After 20 minutes of not finding anyone, we called the hotel. They recommended that we stand by a certain location. Five minutes later, we saw someone. He left a a few minutes and came back and told us that it would be 15-20 more minutes. We should have just walked outside and taken one of the many taxis lined up,

Caution when flying out: the Lisbon airport has a lounge for the best customers of many airlines. Please note that you must go through PASSPORT CONTROL after leaving the lounge. Make sure that you leave plenty of time to progress through the long line and then to your gate.

Stayed here with my mum for a long weekend in February.
Perfect location, 2 minute walk to restaurants, 5 mins to the main squares and bus tour starting points and 5 mins to the Praça do Comércio.
Rooms were modern and clean, if maybe a bit on the small side.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Price reasonable too for such a fantastic location!

Brilliant stay in this fabulous cosy hotel situated in the old part of town (which probably explains the smallish rooms). Everything else about it made up for this with the best location - close to the action but a street away meant no late night street noise; the best staff from the helpful receptionists to the restaurant waiters serving what I thought was great food. Not sure why breakfast has been criticised - I couldn’t see anything wrong with it. Loved sitting in the outside section in the evening watching the world go by - with overhead heaters! Our flight was cancelled and the receptionists couldn’t have been more helpful with helping book a train. Altogether a really good option and I would certainly go back. Oh a really comfortable beds too. What’s not to like!

We just came back from Lisbon celebrating my special Birthday.Hotel is in the best possible location within walking distance to seafront and all the attractions. The windows are great no noise from the street and the bed was extremely comfortable. the hotel staff were amazing and they even got me a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates for my birthday.I have to say thought the breakfast could be better... very repetitive over 5 days and not much choice. They could improve on that. Hotel is lovely though, very clean etc.

This hotel was incredible! The location is amazing! Walking distance from almost every location and close to public transportation stops, which is very easy to navigate. Staff here was very helpful and gave recommendations for food and tours! Rooms were very clean and housekeeping was incredible. Room was small so you have to be creative and stay tidy but for short stays that probably won't be a factor. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Lisbon!

From the first moment we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel extremely welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. The location was great, near to shops and restaurants but in a quiet street so very peaceful.
The rooms were very clean and the air conditioning great and very quiet. The shower was strong and hot water plentiful.
There was a huge choice at the breakfast buffet which was replenished frequently. We had a couple of meals there which were delicious and well presented. The waiters were friendly and attentive.
A taxi was organised for our return trip to the airport which was of a much superior standard to the one we had arrived in and cheaper.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Well, I booked just week before trip so I choosed according to location&past rewievs. The hotel is located few minutes walking from main street, metro and public transpirt as well as sea coast. Tidy but clean room, helpful staff and great valze for money. The floor is wooden so sometimes is noisy while other guests go up and down by stairs. Breakfast was delicious, maybe a liitle bit monotonious ( identical 3-4 ingredients for a whole week), but fresh and tasty and good enough.

The hotel location is good for tourists as it is walking distance to the major sights, metro etc. It is located on a tiny one-way street, almost like an alley.
The rooms are tiny but bathrooms are not too small.
Rooms with "courtyard view" have zero view. The windows are not see-through for good reasons. 5 feet from your window is neighbours' kitchens, bathrooms, wall. Look down it's black roof and air conditioners.
Soundproofing is poor. On multiple nights people upstairs were packing their bags till 2 am.
Hot water kettle is on a tiny shelf, the power cord so short (safety requirement) you have to put the kettle on the floor to boil water.
There are bottles of wine in the mini-bar but no corkscrew. Stayed in 2 rooms, same issue.
They provide bathrobes, slippers, fancy throw pillows, not typical for this hotel category. But the room is so small you have problem stowing those away.
Fortunately you can store your luggage under the bed. A definite plus.

Had booked a room in this hotel for a special occasion. We got a warm welcome from the reception staff, who were helpful, knowledgeable and multilingual. The location is in a sidestreet and it's easy to get anywhere from there. There are countless restaurants within walking distance.

The room we first got was absolutely tiny and not the size I had booked. I assume this was a Mini Double and this might be fine for a one-night stay or for single occupancy, but I felt quite claustrophic. Bathrobes, slippers and minifridge might be a nice touch, but not when there's absolutely no space to put anything or even unpack.

Luckily, the receptionist managed to give us another room the next day and we were happy with that room. Large, comfortable bed and a wardrobe to put our clothes in. Nice room design! The pillows were lumpy, which is probably because they were washed. The room was spotlessly clean! The bathroom was large with a lovely shower, but unfortunately the extractor fan didn't work, which made it quite steamy. However, the aircon in the room worked very well and was quiet. Nice toiletries (Shower Gel/Shampoo, Body Lotion, Shower Cap and Shoe Cloth).

The soundproofing was very welcome and the shutters let no light through. There is quite a lot noise coming from outside at night (Music and singing from somewhere and Trams in the next street). To be fair, we are very noise-sensitive and this might not bother other people. WIFI worked very well.

The breakfast was in the restaurant on the ground floor and was very nice. There was plenty of choice, good quality items and the staff worked hard to replenish the buffet and clear the tables.

We stayed twice in this hotel and had a shower and bath provided on both occasions. If you have a preference for either or both I suggest you e-mail or ring the hotel to clarify as the staff have always been extremely helpful.
