This hostel was great. The feel you get as soon as you are are shown your room is amazing- the decor is done superbly, the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, there are multiple shared living spaces, the staff were helpful, the hostel is clean, the wifi was fast and worked everywhere in the hostel (not just reception) and...

My friend who stayed at Lisbon Lounge in summer 2013 recommended it to me so I stayed here from March 8-14 with my boyfriend in a four-person dorm room for spring break. It's THE best hostel I have stayed at. Free breakfast is served every morning. Even if you are not a morning person, don't miss the crispy pancakes. They...

Perfectly situated in the center, very friendly staff. Our room was great, nice and clean! Small breakfast was offered with bread, cheese, marmalade and freshly made panncakes every morning. Highly recommend it!

Very clean and spacious rooms and bathrooms, nice lounges with light coming from large windows, friendly staff, and the best location (in the city center and also close to a subway station). It was THE best dormitory I have ever stayed. I stayed here for four days and did not encounter any problems at all. I also enjoyed having nespresso...

Super friendfly staff, perfectly situated, great free breakfast and optionnal collective dinners which make you meet the other guests :) We stayed there with my partner when attending a buddhist festival in Cascais and it was just a feeling of homecoming every night we went back to the hostel. Hostel was beautifully decorated, and had an amazing location. All the facilities (wifi, bathrooms, kitchens) were great and the free breakfast was delicious. Price was pretty good too. But it was so incredibly noisy. My roommates did not understand how to stay in a hostel and were up all night talking loudly with the lights on and leaving the door...

After staying in an other hostel, I decided to stay two more nights in this hostel. The decor is just wow! The dorms are spacious and light and the common rooms are just beautiful. The location is in Baixa, close to the subway and pretty central. A few 'negative' remarks: - The dinner is good, but not so great as...

This was probably the coolest hostel I have ever stayed in. It has an incredible, central location. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The hostel itself was very unique. It feels as if it was designed to help you get to know everyone in the hostel. I have never befriended so many people in one of my stays before....

Clean, friendly, well equipped and in a perfect location! I had heard good things about the hostel, and wasn't disappointed. It was a great base for a weekend in Lisbon, within walking distance of bars/restaurants/tourist attractions. We were made to feel very welcome and really got value for our money. Particularly enjoyed the pancakes for breakfast, which were very welcome...

Stayed here about a year ago, and was a bit sceptical. But the hostel is clean, quiet and appealing. During check in, they take the time to give you a decent tour of the hostel and how everything goes. The decoration everywhere is original, the staf are very relaxed (especially the chef Pedro), and they offer great value for money...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

With supreme comfort, cleanliness, style and security, the multi-award-winning Lisbon Lounge Hostel is the perfect place to call home during your visit to our fantastic city. The LLH was the first hostel in Lisbon, opened in 2005 as a project by four Portuguese. For a low cost you can join other guests for our three-course hostel dinner, cooked by our talented Portuguese chef. We also offer cheap van tours (during summertime) to the romantic historical town of Sintra and the local beaches. Were located in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, the main tourist centre of the city. The hostel is just around the corner from the iconic Rua Augusta, a grand and beautiful mosaic-tiled pedestrian street capped by a colossal arch. A short stroll will also take you to the charming suburb of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and the home of Fado, the music of Portugal. At night you can walk to the famous Bairro Alto, a labyrinth of bars and street parties. All forms of public transport, including the airport shuttle and the Cascais beach train line, are within very short walking distance of our hostel. With so much on offer, you will have everything you need to have a comfortable, memorable and fun stay in Lisbon.
