We spent one night at the Josefa D’Obidos hotel. It’s well located just outside the city walls. Staff was very nice. Room was a bit dated, but clean and air con worked well. Breakfast simple and mostly pre-packaged.
Although we had mixed experience at this hotel, I would still recommend it. The positives are that it's a great location for visiting the walled town. in fact it couldn't be closer. Very clean, modern and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fine. The downside for us was noise. The people in the next room had their TV on loud and we could not sleep. We complained to reception but rather than telling next door to be quieter, they offered us a different room to spend the night. Not satisfactory but hardly the hotels fault.…
I'm starting to think me evaluation gene has faded, as this is about the third hotel in a row I've given big stars to!. But this really is an excellent hotel. Wonderfully placed just outside the wall gate, with large clean and modern rooms. Helpful and friendly staff (one who walked me to show the best way to drive to the hotel and gave me her parking spot!) and excellent value for money. Obidos itself has changed in the 10 years since I visited - with their Medieval fair in full flight, way too many people/tourists and a loss of the small town charm that I loved on my first visit. The walls were currently ALL closed for renovations etc, so I missed the walk that had brought me back this time. So - a disappointing visit, but not due to the hotel.…
We recently spent two nights at this hotel. It was an excellent place to stay for a short stopover. The location is perfexct, walking distance to everything you need. There is free parking which was great. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.…
We stayed in the hotel one night during our trip to Portugal. The Hotel was OK. A bit dated but clean. Free parking is a plus. Our only complaint was the the bed was not very comfortable for us, the mattress was too firm, but I guess this is a matter of taste.
