We had a great stay at the Day off hostel. Very impressed!
Incredibly clean, solid wifi, handy location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go back in a heartbeat! Balcony upstairs was an added bonus

I have stayed in many excellent Hotels and hostels in Portugal and elsewhere. Which has been a joy. This Is is not a real Hostel. Very Limited reception hours. No one is there but a few CO living mostly commuters for work. False advertising about activities. Christina has absolutely the worst hospitality service I have ever encountered in all my travel years. Complete disregard of welcoming Someone in a new area. Repeatedly ignored questions asked like directions basic info in area. Most Of all filthy interior in bathrooms and dormitory. Smells and stains. Never have I been in a tourist accommodation where the “hos”pitality so lacking. Also credit card was given and deposit paid and still 2nd and third request for another app approval pay scheme demanded prior to arrival. In Fact my bank was suspicious of continued demand for processing and it locked my card for other accommodations. Since then it has been straightened out and now I can continue to use it, Very stressful. Be careful ... this could really mess things up.No where else have I encountered this. I have booked and payed for over a dozen. Again the worst experience ever. I asked for owners name and was threatened.

This might be a good place for backpackers, it has a good rooftop with kitchen but if you want a room ( they call it 'suit' room) to spend with wife/girlfriend or family forget about it, the doors have no noise isolation, if you are in the 2nd floor room you can hear the door closing at the front desk downstairs...It realy is terrible and it should be fixed if they want to charge what they do for the 'suite' room.

Of course we knew it was a city room with the sound environment that generally goes with it but the experience was disappointing. There is a reception but no physical reception (we arrived at 6 p.m.). Everything is done by codes and WhatsApp. We were in ground floor room 1 which forms the corner of the two alleys onto which the room overlooks. Large bay windows with opaque film to preserve a certain privacy but greatly reducing the brightness (incompatible with claustrophobic people). Noisy environment fortunately a little quieter from a certain time at night, it's in the heart of the city. We managed to find free parking nearby on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Poor quality bedding and noisy bed. Good bathroom but shower wall bracket out of order and again too poor lighting for our taste. Anyway, luckily we only booked one night via Booking. So much the better if customers really appreciated this place, but that is not our case. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this establishment.
