Stopped here for lunch during our day trip to Sintra. Good food and service. Sat outside. Not the cheapest but the food was good - we had spaghetti carbonara and omelette & french fries, 2 fresh fruit juices. Was a nice way to pay the hour we had for lunch on our busy day trip.
We had dinner at the hotel one evening this week during our trip to Sintra. Whilst the location ( we sat outside overlooking the square and palace), the quality of the food and the service from the waitress was superb, I would not visit this restaurant again , or recommend it to anyone else because they will only serve bottled water for which they charge. I asked for a glass of tap water to accompany my meal and was told that this could not be provided, though the waitress tried to negotiate this for me. I was advised that I could only purchase bottled water.I refused and had my meal without a drink. This policy infuriates me for two reasons. Firstly it is a way of ripping guests off who are paying good money for the meal and secondly it fuels the plastic bottle problem that is blighting the environment. A glass of tap water costs a restaurant nothing .…
Visited the Central Palace Hotel in Sintra to attend a wedding reception. On arrival we were directed to the 1st floor by very friendly staff. The reception began on the open terrace with drinks and canopies. The food and drinks were delicious, and the terrace had great views. The food and service we received for the seated part of the reception was the best I’ve ever had. All the staff were smiling and attentive, and seemed to pride themselves on their service. A special mention for Nuno the manager who was hands on with every detail of the reception, it was so well organised. I would highly recommend the Central Palace Hotel in Sintra for anyone’s wedding reception.
Also in contrast to earlier reviews we lunched there on a busy Saturday. An imaginative menu with dishes very nicely presented by helpful and pleasant staff. Found the price reasonable given the prime location and views over the Praça and Palácio. We'd definitely go back.
We had lunch at the hotel central during our visit to Sintra and while the food was delicious the prices were ridiculous. Upon getting our bill we realised we were charged€2.40 for our two small butters. When I complained it was shrugged off by staff and I got the impression that they would be afraid to pass on the complaint.
