The hotel managed to exceed in every way! The location very close to the center and the embarkation point for boat trips makes it very easy to get to know a little of the city while walking!! I went with my family to spend 3 days on the island, we stayed at the Pestana CR7 Hotel. We were immediately welcomed by the friendly Eduardo, who made us feel very welcome and was always very available to help us. The housekeeping team was exceptional, always with a smile on their faces and wishing each guest that passed by a happy day. Also, the lovely Micaela, who with her smile and friendliness captivated us (and captivates anyone) 🥰
Fantastic breakfast, with plenty of variety and for all tastes. The chefs also make wonderful omelettes 🤤
Entrance to the CR7 Museum is free for guests.
In the future (and in the near future), when we return to Madeira, we will stay at the Pestana CR7 Hotel again!

We chose the CR7 hotel because of our son as he is a Cristiano Ronaldo fan. The hotel has an excellent location, design, everything is close by. Kindly staff. The room was large with a view of the terrace. Upon arrival we were served by a waiter who didn't understand English, we wanted to ask if there were fries when we order the burger. This same waiter served us 2 more times during our stay, once he didn't bring a drink at all and once he brought me a fizzy soft drink instead of sparkling wine. This is totally unprofessional and such a thing should not happen in such a hotel!! Based on this experience we do not have the view of this hotel that we had. There was no hairdryer in the room, they brought one after asking but the room should have been checked before the guests arrived, this hotel should have a higher standard but it doesn't. There were no cotton buds in our room to clean our ears (we stayed 4 Nights) and also coffee was not added in our room every day. The hotel is not having a dedicated area for eating but everything is connected by both reception and entrance room, once we had breakfast and asked for room number more times. Despite these experiences, I would highly recommend the Pestana CR7 hotel and we had a great time here.

We arrived around 2:30 p.m. on August 1, 2023 and there was an employee with gray hair at a mini-reception, unusual in a hotel of the characteristics they sell you, he gave us the room cards, after payment, and then we hired To be able to leave the car in the parking lot, we gave him €50 to €10 per day in cash, we signed a receipt for which he did not give us proof, because according to him, it was not necessary. The rooms were nice and clean, although some of them were a bit small and it was difficult to get space for two 'unfolded' suitcases (we had 3 rooms). All 3 rooms had a strange device with a window between the bathroom/toilet and the room itself. This meant that you couldn't go to the toilet without the person in the room being able to hear EVERYTHING you did - so to speak! I am fully clothed in the photo. If you got a room facing the water, your view was 'ruined' by huge cruise ships and their horns ruined your night's sleep. Another thing that made you unable to sleep was the disco below your room - the last guests went home when I got up at 08.00 and you had first floor for crying and vomiting. If, on the other hand, you had a room facing the street, it was the roof terrace parties that kept you up and you sat up from your garden door half the night! The food in the restaurant both morning and evening was nothing to shout about either. There was often a lack of juice, which meant that later in the evening specific drinks could not be made either! They advertise that there is a PS4 in all rooms, we didn't find a single one that is also advertised that there is a bar by the pool - unfortunately it had only opened 2 x 1 hour in 7 days due to a lack of staff. If you get one of the 'back' rooms, there are approx. 80 meters from the lift/stairs to your room, the route goes down a very long corridor with a disgusting green carpet. All in all, you don't get what is promised and it seems most of all like a Ronaldo money machine. Very disappointing stay and we will not be staying there again! However, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful and they did what they could with what they had!

Very good hotel with excellent service from all of the staff. Hotel is very clean & modern. We stayed half board for 7 nights, buffet breakfast was excellent & the chefs will make you poached eggs, omelettes or bacon, evening meals are all cooked to order. All food was served hot & you get large portions with side’s included. Quality of food is excellent. Would have liked a few more choices on the evening menu however the chefs are more than happy to vary your meals to suit. We had harbour view rooms & loved it. Great location & a nice 10 minutes flat walk down to the old town. Drink prices are reasonable & again you get good measures. Wi-Fi is good in rooms & downstairs in the bar & restaurant however you lose the signal at the pool & outside on the terrace. This needs to be improved by the hotel. All-in-all a great hotel with exceptional service, the hotel delivered champagne & a cake to our room for my partners birthday, lovely touch & was really appreciated. We have been to this hotel 3 times. A 4. There won't be times. On our first stay at New Year's Eve 2021 we had a room with country views. Staff at reception and breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, vis a vis from the hotel is a disco. The bass unfortunately robbed me of sleep for several nights. That's why we booked a room with sea views for our next stay as we thought it would have to be quiet then. So in February 2023 we stayed at this hotel again. The staff were friendly, but sleep was even less thoughtful as there was a restaurant below our room where guests sat outdoors until 3am and had a lot of fun. Since the windows are unfortunately only a windscreen, but not a sound insulation, sleep could only be thought of between 3 am and 7 am. On our last stay we asked for a room facing the country side as far away from the disco as possible. We got that too, but the disco was still so loud on Saturday and Sunday that it was really hard to find sleep those nights. Also, I regret to note that the staff was not as friendly as during our first two stays. In the morning you were not greeted at the reception. The chef at breakfast was upset when asked for an omelet, he really made you notice that by his way. I find that impossible in a hotel of this category. During the first two stays, the children also always received a signed football, as we stayed a week. This time it was the same when booking on the Internet. When we asked for the ball at the hotel, it was explained to us that we were not entitled to a ball when we booked, as we did not book in the promotion period - of course I did not have a screenshot of the reservation with me, which was different. Therefore, the children did not get a signature from Ronaldo - I absolutely could not understand this procedure. For these reasons I cannot recommend the hotel - for our next holiday in Funchal we will therefore look for another hotel. In itself, the rooms are neat and clean. Only the lighting is already very dark. In the evening, the room looks dark. The location is actually also very good as you are right in the center of Funchal.

Absolutely, this hotel is riding on the back of the famous footballer. It is so outdated. It looks like a multistory carpark from outside. The decor is old, tired with stained carpets, and cracking paint in the bathroom. The room was not that clean, with hairs in the bathroom, thick bust round the edges of the room. We had a nematic drill going constantly in the room next but one to us from 8am-6pm the whole duration of our stay. The maids open the doors while cleaning the room, and every midgy you squash the night before is then replaced. We got bitten to pieces. So take every repellant you can. We did mention this at reception, and they said they'd spray the room. Nothing! They do a good selection at breakfast, and the evening menu is basically burgers and pizzas, and to be fair, the pizzas were amazing. We did have pizza and drinks at lunch one day, and when we came to pay, there was no one about as we were going out and we're staying in the hotel all week, we thought they would add it our room as they knew who we were. No! We came back from an evening out and were greeted by the head waitress running across the open plan foyer shouting at us for not paying with card machine in hand! And an audience of the whole ground floor!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Then to top it all. Come back from a day out the next day and my key card didn't work. They had for no reason checked me out 2 days early, so if I had not been part of a couple i wouldn't have had anywhere to stay!!! Never again!!!

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during our short visit to Madeira. The hotel is very unique and always on the topic of football and Cristiano Ronaldo. If you are not a football fan it can feel a bit weird walking around the lobby and the halls and even being in the room.
We had one of the basic rooms and it was great! It had a comfy bed and a large TV with direct access to the outdoor area. The bathroom was clean and it really gave the vibes of a changing room with its yellow walls. Also, the room would benefit from more lighting, but I understand that it adds to the atmosphere of the place.
The staff of the hotel was amazing. We were greeted by Estefani on our first day there who was kind enough to check if our room was ready before the normal check-in hours and also offered us a welcome drink. We then met her all other days we were at the hotel and she made sure to answer all the questions we had regarding our stay and the city!
The breakfast was perfect too with a variety of items to choose from both local to Madeira and from the continental selection. They also followed a very rigorous sanitation process at the breakfast with everyone asked to put hand sanitiser when entering the breakfast area and being given their own tongs to grab their food. Also, there was no cutlery on the table and the staff brought it to us when we were seated.
The location of the hotel was great too, only a short distance from the city centre (which was always an enjoyable walk) and with great views from the swimming pool area of the port and the city of Funchal, especially at night.
The other perks of staying there were that we got discounted parking at the car park in the basement of the hotel and also free tickets for the CR7 Museum next door.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and would love to stay again here if we ever go back to Funchal!

Sorry I don’t know if single beds are available. Ours was a double bed. I would recommend contacting the hotel direct as the staff are really friendly and helpful.
