Ill stick to basics as this hotel is very basic. No facilities in room eg : kettle or fridge. how do i keep a bottle drink or beer cool? Bed very very hard, shower impossible to get correct temp. Very noisy as next to main thoroughfare. traffic noise all night kept me awake and dogs barking a pain. virtually impossible...

We stayed here for two nights. Everything appeared ok, however it all turned very sour if there is anything wrong, they really cannot handle it and the fake smiles go out the door and the real nasty rude, lying unprofessional behaviour appears. I have stayed in a number of hotels,I travel a few times a years, things go wrong, management...

This family-ruled pension is really 5 min walk from Monte cablecar and maybe just some minutes more from Mercado dos Lavradores. It features small rooms, without A/C, but you won't miss it. The family is really kind and helping. Maybe they only should improve the breakfast choise.

There were some bumps when I first arrived - I did not want to be out in the second location because my phone was unable to pick up any wifi signal, but the manager was willing to work with me (even though I was probably a bit rude after traveling for so long - sorry!), and I was placed in...

There isn't much to say that other reviews haven't covered but we enjoyed our short stay here for 3 days at the end of July. We used Booking.com and booked the day we needed to stay and found the hosts very accommodating when we arrived a couple of hours after making the booking. We stayed in room 24 on the...

For the first time, I stayed in this pension in June 2014. Since that time, I have been going there regularly each year, either alone or with my friends. Everytime I find a lot of heartiness, warmth as well as kindness provided by the Horta family. They are very nice and helpful people. Everytime I have a clean room equipped...

We stayed there for few days. Location in great, rooms are fairly simple, with private bathroom. Breakfast is included in price, it is good with fresh baked eggs, jams and butter,... There is no fruit but you can buy it in a big market which is only 200-300m away. The staff is really friendly and open for all the questions...

The hotel is in a fantastic location in the middle of the old town. It was very clean and had a lovely Madeira family atmosphere. We stayed for a week in a twin upper floor room which provided views of both the sea and the town and was very quiet. The room had the added benefit of a balcony which...

Centrally located in the Old City of Funchal, close to the city center and the Mercado dos Lavradores. With affordable prices, rich and well-finished common areas, and an extremely kind and multilingual staff, I've been very satisfied with this choice. The rooms are tidy and cozy and the private bathroom ok, albeit the shower flow was rather weak. I would...

I stayed there with my mother and a friend for 5 days, after we got moved from an unprofessional "hotel" called Flame Tree Madeira. We are happy with the fact that we got moved as this hostel was way better than the "hotel". It is run by an amazing and extremely nice family and we were treated like if we...
