Some years ago, if asked, I would say to people you can't go far wrong with a Melia hotel, regretfully no longer. We decided we would go away for Xmas and decided on a place we had heard so much about, and always good, Madeira. We booked the Melia Mare Funchal, as from the brochures it looked like a nice 5...

Madeira is very worth the visit ! I loved it.. The hotel is good, rooms are clean, staff is very friendly. There's no food variety at all, for a 5 star hotel and for the price you pay , it's very poor and the arrangement of the food was very confusing, for example pork ham on the one side, turkey...

The hotel is never a 5 star in appearance, rooms, lounges and food. The lounges are a bar and lounge off the entrance and is very ordinary. The rooms are plain and colourless. The buffet food is the worst ever. Little choice and the hot is never hot.

We stayed here between 6-9th of Jan. We only had a few days away from work so this was a great deal for us. The hotel is of a high standard, the room was good and very clean. We were very happy with our choice. I will break the rest down into bullet points for ease and to be as...

We stayed at this hotel, 16th December 2016 to 23rd December 2016. Room 208, with a sea view. The holiday was booked through Jet2holidays.com. I'd done a fare amount of research on both the holiday company and hotel. I cannot really fault either. The flight, pick up, transfers were all perfect. The check-in was very smooth and fast and we...

We can highly recommend staying at the Melia Madeira for an extra few days of luxury when timeshare weeks of holiday have come to an end. The difference in settings made us reconsider our plans for future holidays in Madeira. The decor made our timeshare property look very tired!! On our last visit in July 2016, we were allocated room...

Free of charge and good speed wifi, free parking for guests, large terrace balcony with lounge-chairs and mattresses (room 401), classic bathtub plus American style shower with large showerhead (excellent, but such a waste of water) from which a glass wall lets you see the ocean while showering, teakettle, minibar, lots of dress hangers and drawers in the closet, live...

We had a 6 days holiday on Madeira at Melia Madeira Mare Resort & Spa . Our room(101 ) was very spacious and had a sea view , but in front of our room was first a big tent and over there was an amazing view . We didn't stay too much in the room because we rented a car...

I went to spend the end of the year and was surprised with: - year-end buffet dinner, which caused confusion, immense queues and lesser conviviality; - reduced number of employees and many inexperienced, absence of signs indicating the name of the dishes.... - main dishes with little variety; - Weak musical group; - disorganized transport to watch the fireworks, on...
