How many hotels introduce you to the staff on arrival and are there on departure to give you a hug ? Extremely friendly and well run. Nothing is too much trouble. Many of the guests come back year after year and would go nowhere else . Neither would I.

This was our first visit to Maderia and we loved the charm of this small and very efficiently run hotel. The warmth of the staff is exceptional, nothing is too much bother. The location in the old town was superb with great accesss to local restaurants. We met so many people who return each year which says far more than...

This was our second visit to Madeira and this time we stayed in the Old Town. Hotel Albergaria Dias is in a prime location, very close to restaurants, the cable car and everything else a tourist could want. The staff are excellent. Helpful, friendly and full of knowledge about Madeira. Breakfasts were lovely with a great choice of fruit plus...

I recently spent a week at this small family owned and run hotel. Everything just seemed to run so smoothly from housekeeping to the breakfast servers and front desk. It is not a "fancy" accommodation but includes everything one needs. And for me I loved being on the other side of town away from the pretentious resorts. As far as...

This was our second visit to the Hotel Albergaria Dias and it was just as we remembered it. A personal greeting from Mr Dias, wonderful, friendly staff, great breakfasts, great views....I could go on. I was presented with flowers at breakfast on my birthday which was such a lovely surprise. The hotel is in an ideal position to catch buses...

This is our sixth visit to Madeira and the standard of the hotels here is extremely high. Consequently it takes an exceptional hotel to stand out and the Albergaria Dias manages to do just that. It is not the largest or the most luxurious so here are the reasons why. Firstly the location, you exit a gate down a short...

From the welcome on our arrival to the moment we left, this proved to be a great experience - friendly and very helpful staff, excellent breakfast (including the famous fruit salad!), quiet rooms, great location in old town area with close proximity to bus terminals.

We have previously holidayed in Funchal a couple of time, on both occasions staying at the Porto Mare Hotel. A very fine establishment but we were drawn to the old town and having most attractions within walking distance. We settled on this hotel based on previous reviews and its ideal location. We couldn't have picked better, very friendly, clean and...

Over the years we have stayed in various types of accommodation ranging from guest houses to five star hotels and I can honestly say we have never experienced a welcome like we had when we arrived at the Hotel Albergaria Dias. The transfer from the airport stopped by the hotel main gates on Rua de Santa Maria in the old...
