We were practically the only one there and were amazed of the beauty of the cloister, the chuch, the monastery that we could discover at our own pace with the provided audioguide. We also took a long walk in the garden and the enclosed land. Once again We didnt meet anyone in our one hour walk. We came across a... More

This hotel attached to the Monastery of St Martin of Tibães, the mother house of the Benedictine order in Brazil and Portugal is wonderful and a fabulous place to stay just outside of Braga. The modern decor and finishings have been extremely well thought out to preserve the original building and I was surprised to hear it is 6 years... More

It's an amazing place, located in the Mosteiro de Tibaes an huge monastery that was the main house of the Benedictine order in Portugal. The old and the new blend together in a marvelous way. The rooms are excellent, brand new with a great bed and great shower, the wooden floor, the luminous decoration are really great. The food is... More

As two couples we stayed at the convent last night. Our only word of caution, don't trust google as we went via a scary back road---not the easy way. Once there, we loved it! Hiking the grounds was magical and a great chance to unwind. Our dinner was perfect---and breakfast was equally lovely. Going through the church and adjoining buildings... More

This amazing place, full of history, is lost in the middle of nowhere. If you’re looking for a crowded noisy place don’t go there but if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place to sleep… it’s definitively the place to go… Breakfast was excellent

The rooms in the hospedaria are lovely if slightly unusual in their use of glass. The setting is beautiful and a visit to the monastery and church is included in the price. Make sure you have a look at the graveyard. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the advertised evening meal was not available and there are no local restaurants.

Staying here really was the highlight of our holiday in northern Portugal. A small part of the monastery has been converted into a small and very modern hotel with stylish and minimalist décor. Dinner and breakfast is served in a dining room converted from the former refectory. In addition to staying in a nice hotel you get to look around... More

Have just spent two nights at this restored monastery (6 kms outside Braga). The welcome was very friendly and our comfortable and modern rooms reflected the fairly recent refurbishment which has created the 9 room accommodation on a single floor. The rooms are compact and sparely furnished and perhaps reflect the ethos of this place. A modern en suite with... More

Suddenly, this hotel became one of the highlights of our trip! It is simple amazing. We were traveling with friends and the four of us were in awe seeing every room and every detail. The rooms are a perfect combination of modern design and the actual monastery. The following morning, after a nice breakfast, we explore the entire monastery. It... More
