Espinho is a lovely place to spend a holiday, it's conveniently located close to Porto with a trainstation almost next to the beach! A stay in Espinho means delicious food, great beach-life and surfing possibilities and lovely daytrips to the surrounding areas.
The Shelter Guest House offers hospitality in its purest form. It feels like being at home away from home. The lovely host makes sure you want for nothing, and gave me some great tips for things to do and see, and places to eat. You will feel like you're staying with friends!
There are three rooms, with a varying amount of beds. I was on my own but I can imagine that this is perfect for when you're on holiday with a group or as a couple! Each room has its own door leading to the back garden, where you can lay in a hammock or have breakfast in the sunshine.
The facilities are shared, which, for some people I imagine may be a bit of a downside. I thought it was great, however to see and talk to other guests during my stay, the atmosphere was very inviting to have breakfast or dinner together and make a trip down to the beach with the other guests.
All in all I could highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a carefree holiday, whether it be alone, as a couple or in a group. There is something here for everyone, for those who just want to lounge on the beach, or who want a more active holiday of exploring the surroundings, or going surfing!
