This project by Torel Boutiques is housed in one of the most stunning historic palaces in Porto, Palacete Campos Navarro. The Palace, dating back to 1861, and typical of those of the bourgeoisie at the time, is one of the most impressive and distinguished examples of the romantic architecture period in Porto. A highlight is an exceptionally stunning skylight (“Claraboia”). The concept of Torel Palace Porto is to honor Portuguese writers and poets, among them Eça de Queiroz, Florbela Espanca and, of course, perhaps the best-known Portuguese writer, Fernando Pessoa.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

We stayed for 5 nights at Hotel Torel Palace and loved it from the first moment. Very friendly, non-intrusive and very helpful.
Here every wish is read from your eyes and fulfilled immediately: The air conditioning makes noise? The technician will be there in 2h! Do you have to wait for a free table at breakfast (less than 2 minutes)? The manager sees this, brings in additional table and chairs himself and apologizes, for the inconvenience!
It's raining? We'll call you an Uber or taxi to take her to Wine Lodge. Tickets are already reserved. Have fun!
Where to eat well? I'll think about it and bring a list to their room!
I could tell you more about these "all-around moments of satisfaction" that will make the short time unforgettable.
The location is perfect. In 5 minutes you have everything you need on foot in sufficient number. Food, drink, attractions, pharmacy, supermarket, shopping... Everything.
In the morning the room is cleaned and in the evening again checked if everything fits, the shutters closed and some fruit or chocolate provided as a bedhopping.
The theme "Writers & Poets" is ubiquitous and gives the historic building even more charm.
Unfortunately, I didn't take more pictures at the hotel, but I didn't see a nicer one and would if again in Porto, then only stay here.

Outstanding boutique hotel in the middle of Porto. This is a great property with only 24 rooms so the hotel gets to know you. Incredibly helpful staff....Francesca was great helping us make dinner reservations, tour recommendations for the winery and sites to see. The breakfast buffet is unbelievable with lots of choices including eggs Benedict, waffles and pancakes. Everyone from turn down service (yes! They have this!) to waitresses to doormen to front desk are incredibly helpful and nice. Our room was kept immaculate by housekeeping. The location is perfect and taking an Uber across the river or to restaurants in town is very reasonable...6 euros or less. Overall a fantastic hotel with 5 star service.

This is an amazing property located in the heart of Porto. We did a lot of meticulous research when choosing our accommodations in Porto and we opted for Torel Palace because of its location, the size and amenities offered in the rooms, and the property's amazing design including all of the seasonal decor they put up for the holidays. We stayed in room #23, which is on the top floor and features a bathroom with an incredible skylight. The hotel's restaurant, Blind, offers an indulgent breakfast and if you go for dinner, the tasting menu is a unique experience for the adventurous.
During our stay, we had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Bruna, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay and vacation was nothing short of amazing. Bruna's warm and welcoming personality immediately made us feel at home, and she took the time to understand our interests and preferences and tailoring her recommendations to create a truly personalized experience. Whether it was guiding us to amazing restaurants, arranging private boat tours, or just giving us a general overview of everything we should see in the city, Bruna's expertise was invaluable.
Overall, I would easily recommend Torel Palace as a home away from home for any of my friends traveling to Porto. Thank you to the entire Torel Palace team for making our stay truly special!!

This a real class hotel in a stunningly beautiful building where I stayed for eight nights. Considerable amounts have been spent restoring what had been left in a semi-derelict state. The stucco ceiling work in my room (the Royal Suite) was beautifully restored in meticulous detail. In converting the building to the hotel, to keep ceilings such as this intact and visible in its original dimensions, rather than divide the corner of the room for the bathroom, it has been put in a mirrored cube in the centre of the room. It sounds strange but it really works and provides spatial division with the bed on one side and a comfortable settee and desk, bar, Nespresso machine and tea station on the other. Each side has a TV built seamlessly into the mirrors. Also particularly special about this hotel is the calibre of the staff. They couldn't be more attentive to your needs. They get your name from the beginning and use it all the time. The manager takes a personal interest whether at breakfast or in the day to day business of the hotel. The reception staff are friendly and provide a great service. When I was stuck after a concert at the Casa da Música in a huge storm with no sign of a taxi, a swift call to the hotel reception staff resulted in a taxi arriving without delay. The breakfast staff and those in Florbela Pâtisserie are professional and helpful. The hotel has a fine dining restaurant 'Blind' (with a choice of two twelve-dish tasting menus) and the Florbela, beautifully designed in library style, useful for more casual eating. In addition to pâtisserie, it serves a range of tasty dishes from the restaurant kitchen. I was particularly impressed by the Florbela staff. The room staff too do an excellent job. There is an outdoor swimming pool although it wasn't the weather for it when I was there. Situated as it is in the centre of Porto's old town, there are no gardens to speak of, but being in the centre means the hotel is close to most of Porto's historic sites, easily walkable. All in all an impressive and recommended hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying at Torel Palace Porto, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the service was absolutely superb – the staff went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and taken care of. The property itself is incredibly unique, combining historical charm with modern elegance in a way that feels both luxurious and comfortable.
My room was beautifully designed, with attention to every detail. The location is also perfect – close enough to walk to Porto’s main attractions but tucked away enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. If you’re looking for a place with top-notch service and a truly special atmosphere, I highly recommend Torel Palace Porto.

A few comments on the positives of this hotel. The location is great, the road is quiet (compared with other roads in porto) and it is close to lots of good restaurants and shops. The rooms are lovely and spacious, with great decor however the views aren't great. The breakfast was great, there is no menu but they will make your most things you ask for. The pool area is nice but small and the pool couldn't really be used as its not heated (even though we were there during record temperatures).
Now onto the negatives and unfortunately there were quite a few. The daily room cleaning was awful. They left dirty towels in the room and forgot to replace with new ones on various occasions. No hoovering and dirty cups and plates were also left in the room. Nothing was moved to be cleaned, toothpaste marks stayed on the surfaces for our whole stay. The rooms werent cleaned until 4/5pm everyday which is very inconvenient if you going out in the evening. There is no turn down service. We requested this however when the cleaners came to the room and we were still in there and when we asked them to come back later we were told 'it's complicated' or 'my shift finishes soon'. I do not expect this from a 5* hotel and have never experienced this before.
We also asked for recommendations for restaurants. The 1st one we were recommended to was the worst meal I've ever had. The food was awful and the staff were extremely rude. The 2nd restaurant was extortionately expensive (even more expensive than top restaurants in london) for very average food. If you go to this hotel research your own restaurants.
One of the rooms on the ground floor could hear the music coming from the lobby all night.
A lot of the rooms smelt of cigarette smoke too, we had a pregnant person and an 8 week old baby in our group so this was not great at all. There is also no air conditioning in the bathrooms and one of the rooms was on the top floor with a sun roof and it was like a sauna and unable to use.

Dear Mrs. Amanda Youdt, Thank you so much for the time taken to write your review! We are glad have received your family at our palace and we are happy to know that you enjoyed our facilities and location! Regarding the negative sides, we happily announce that we are now doing turn down service every day. We apologize for not having this service fully functional during your stay. Your words were passed to our housekeeping department, so they can take them to improve their work and mainly because these types of failures cannot occur at the level of service that we are committed to provide. Regarding the restaurants we recommended, the first one was a traditional Portuguese restaurant that we recommend on a frequent basis for traditional Portuguese food. Concerning the second restaurant, it was a place that specializes in fresh fish and seafood, with great feedback as well. We recommend restaurants based on these criteria. Nevertheless, we will have your feedback into account and contact the restaurants to ask if anything went wrong and mostly to make sure the next guests will have a good experience. About the issues in the rooms, we tried promptly to address them and we’re always available to offer solutions to compensate the inconveniences. At Torel Palace Porto we are always looking for ways to improve our service and we hope to welcome you again in the near future. Kind regards, Ricardo Meira

Stunning boutique hotel in the heart of old Porto. Rooms are named after celebrated poets and authors. Our lovely and quite opulent room no 1 had a massively high ceiling and was fitted for disabled access in the spacious bathroom which meant an enormous walk-in shower along with single basin and WC. There is plenty of drawer and cupboard space, king sized bed and desk, with a partial view over the pool area. There are euro plug sockets either side of the bed but no USB ports. There is a TV but this only has free to view channels, coffee pod machine which takes pods different to Nespresso and a small mini-bar fridge- free to those who book direct but not if booked via booking.com There is a lift, included breakfasts are comprehensive with both ala-carte and buffet options. Port tasting is offered on a Thursday 4.30pm for a very inexpensive 18 Euro- we paid 26 Euro for just 2 tastes near the river. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Although there’s some pillow options including memory foam and feather pillows in the room the latter are extremely bulky which some may find uncomfortable. To get a thinner pillow all they could provide was a synthetic pillow which was quite lumpy, would be nice if they could provide thinner down pillows. A bonus is a coin-operated laundrette right next door, a coffee/pastry shop around the corner and multiple restaurants within a short walking distance, the best being Rios Tapas bar & restaurant around the block.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at the Torel Palace in early January and we share our view of the excellence of the staff and of the service we receive. The room was spacious and very comfortable as was the bar area which was particularly important given the wet and windy weather we had for 3 of the 5 days. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the choice and quality of the breakfast was very good. The hotel's location is great to access the old town and major attractions by foot, metro and bus. Finally, a mention that we had free transfers from and to the airport which was appreciated.

In a 5* Boutique Hotel one expects well presented, polite staff who provide an excellent level of customer care. Decor and furnishings of good quality and thoughtfully planned. Food varied and to a high standard. This property ticks all the boxes. The staff went beyond expectation to ensure that we enjoyed our four night stay. Housekeeping was an example as to how things can be done. Extensive breakfast to a very high quality and served with a smile. With a central location as a bonus, the Torel Palace Porto made for a memorably enjoyable stay. One that we intend to repeat.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to stay in Porto. We stumbled across this place due to its good ratings and reasonable prices. When we pulled up in our cab, we were quickly greeted at the curb by one of the hotel staff who helped get our bags into the hotel. The front office staff greeted us with a glass of port and quickly registered us, including a room upgrade! We were escorted to our room. It was spectacular. We had reserved a small suite, but we're upgraded to the superior suite. The hotel is a beautifully restored old intown estate . It has 20 ft ceilings throughout with beautiful details. Due to architectural restrictions, they were unable to disturb original walls during the renovation, so the creative solution was to put the bathroom in the center of the large room. The result was a bedroom area, the bathroom area and then a seating area with a couch and desk. Ample room for storage in a large armoire. And, a lovely patio with a small table and 2 chairs. The front desk staff was helpful and courteous. They helped us with port wine tasting and dinner reservations. Breakfast was served in the basement restaurant which is associated with the hotel. There was an ample buffet, and also a menu to choose hot items such as eggs, pancakes and waffles. The food and service was excellent. This hotel was 5 stars in every aspect. We have a return trip scheduled for the Fall and we will definitely be staying here again.

Estimado Rámon,
Le informo de que en la calle del hotel hay algunas plazas de aparcamiento gratuitas. También le informo de que hay plazas señalizadas con un letrero en las que está prohibido aparcar.
