Reception: very good service, always willing to help us Elevators: Due to the accommodation capacity, they become very slow, which makes us wait around 20 to 30 minutes, as they often go up and down at maximum capacity. Breakfast: Leaves something to be desired when it comes to fruits, which were always available with a very high degree of acidity Housekeeping and cleaning: excellent staff. Location: very good, easy to get to tourist attractions. Service team: Bar and breakfasts - always very kind and willing to help us. Support service for collecting large suitcases (as stated in the Abreu package) left something to be desired upon departure, there was only one person to carry the suitcases for a group of 32 couples and a teenager. Conservation: In general, very well maintained, especially the reception, bar and breakfast room. In the bedrooms, the bathtub and floor need renovation (very stained and need grouting to avoid leaks).

We stayed here as part of a Secret Escapes package and found the hotel clinically clean, efficient and businesslike. The spacious room and bathroom was equipped and comfortable. They really excelled them selves with a fantastic breakfast buffet which provided a quality meal to begin they day with, fruit, hot food selection, pastries, fish, yoghurts, bread selection, cheese, ham - nothing missing. The evening meals in the rooftop restaurant was OK although pricey and rather formal, the sort of place you'd take a business client. The location was away from the city centre but quite accessible by bus and as others note there is a very useful supermarket next door - it suited us to enjoy a meal in the city during the day and get a supper from next door in the evening.

This is a good urban hotel, with a proper location, in a centric but modern district, I´d say something along the lines of a business hotel, but the clientele was really varied, most of them foreigners. I´d already been staying in Porto Palácio, but it was many years ago, so the hotel must have been revamped as I found some changes. There´s a restaurant and cafeteria on the 20th floor and the views are fantastic, you can even see the Douro estuary and, looking from the other extreme of the large room, the Clérigos Tower. Rooms are functional and elegant. Excelent beds. Everything is sleek and modern. There´s also a health centre, if I´m not mistaken you can access to some parts of it but, for other services you have to pay extra. Outstanding staff: professional, friendly, always on the ball. Unlike other opinions, I didn´t see any special difficulty in the access if you come driving: there´s a major work outside due to an underground extension I think, but that´s external to the hotel and you only have to follow the signs, nothing particularly complicated. Besides, I got an incredible rate, so the price-quality ratio was really excellent.

Grand hotel outside the city we took a taxi for all our trips, visits, shopping, restaurants….…the restaurant “Auge” 19th floor is too expensive. We drank a cocktail offered by the hotel at the bar restaurant Auge where the view is magnificent, the bartenders are not too cheerful. We dined at the "Hub Gastrobar" restaurant, a little gourmet cuisine, we would have preferred a simpler dinner like tapas, cold meats and cheese with a good wine or beer, the price and a little high too. We did not take the breakfast charged at 20 euros. Next to the hotel small supermarket with pastries and coffee for a total of 2 euros it is very good. The room: what a shame old carpet and stained and the attic no window opens. We lacked fresh air because carpet and locked window equals allergy...The agents who do the cleaning are courteous and smiling and do their best because apart from the carpet was clean.welcome:Carlos is very friendly he speaks French and advises you as best as possible with always a smile and a young lady sorry I don't have her first name who answers you in French and who is very friendly. The swimming pool we We had that for us because no one that day it was very pleasant with the hot jacuzzi 👍. The spa that we did not test. In conclusion the restaurants of this hotel are a little expensive because I want to understand that it's a five star but that doesn't go with the rest the rooms are not up to five stars...We had a pleasant stay with the family despite the few negative points. Thanks to the reception staff, the doorman and very courteous and smiling cleaning agents.

This is a nice hotel, but it's wearing out fast. The floors are scuffed and the furniture worn. Front desk and door people were quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast is far better than anything one would find in the US, but significantly below what we experienced elsewhere in Portugal and Europe. A big spread with many of the items one would expect, but the food quality itself was not very good. For example, a very limited selection of cheeses and meats, the pastries were not very fresh, and the fruit selection quite limited. The breakfast service was adequate, but not really good; my impression was they were just too short staffed. It was all fine - just not on par with other 'luxury' hotels in Portugal. Beware the "free" drink coupon for the rooftop bar - the drink is only port and the charcuterie board and single glass of wine that we ordered was $56! (Some of our lunches for two, with wine, in Porto were less.)

Hotel well positioned to visit the city of Porto with full services (swimming pool, SPA, gym) that bring the 5 stars. Clean interiors, friendly staff at the top; even the effort to speak French, which is rather rare... But it's a shame that some collaborators think customers are parrots. We paid for an executive room on the upper floor that was not ready at 16:00 (sensation we had following the exchange between the 2 people of the reception) and we were "treated" to a room on the 11th linked with the neighboring room by a poorly soundproofed door. So privacy in such a room is a wish, not a certainty... It is a shame that in such a SPA there are facilities out of service and that even the door of the hot steam room had no pommel. And, in the end, it's a shame that -in a 5-star -the check-out is not well mastered. An unlikely story in which the amount announced is smaller than the consumption. We drew attention to this error and paid the full consumption but the final printing and that there is no software management expense.
So hotel very good but there are aspects to improve!

We are just recently back from a stay here and can't fault this hotel. From arrival to check-in, all staff were friendly and helpful, offering hints and tips for our trip. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel but when we did we found it to be very clean, the room was spacious with separate bathroom and wc, fully stocked bar, and even complimentary slippers which were much needed after a day sight seeing. The local metro station is a 10 minute walk away , with the city centre only 3 stops away with very efficient service. yes currently there are roadworks on the road to the station and around porto bit nothing that should put you off venturing out and about, in fact I would say make the most of it as it's possible that prices may increase once the city is improved, although how that's possible I'm not sure. Hotel and porto both well wort the visit, and be sure to use your voucher for a free cocktail at the rooftop bar to take in the amazing views. Would definitely return and most definitely recommend

Large hotel in what amounted to the suburbs, it being a couple of kilometres to the harbour area and city centre. However, it was on much flatter terrain, less of a strain getting about on foot. The centre could be accessed by bus or taxi at modest cost. 18 floors from memory, and a decent view from our window to the sea even from the 11th. Large room, with all facilities, a speedy maid service avery day. Excellent WiFi too. Nice bar on the ground floor, though far from the cheapest. Nice large breakfast area, and good fare, though the sausages were disappointingly bland. Made up for by fresh orange juice, and waiter served tea and coffee, rather than self-service. Thoroughly recommended.

No it is not in walking distance to the city center 2.5 km. But if you ask for shopping and restaurants there are not too far 700 meters. There are 2 places to eat closer around 100 meters - I know noting about them. Public transportation is also 700 meters from the hotel.

Dear future host,
We would like to thank you for choosing the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa.
At the entrance of the hotel there is a desk next to the reception where the employees Inês Magalhães and Ana Rita Ramos will be very pleased to help discover the city.
We look forward to your arrival.
With our best regards.
The airport in Porto is only 15-20 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel is a 5-star resort, so it is pricey. But look for discount through hotel apps, you can actually get decent deductions. Write if you have further questions.
