My husband and I were here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the magnificent lobby of this hotel, we felt elated. Beautifully decorated with sumptuous wall coverings, palatial ceilings, antique furniture....yet one feels at home. Our room was beautifully appointed, bed so large and comfortable, bathroom modern (could use a little more light). Service and kindness abound here. We especially would like to thank Sandra, who was always available (with a big smile) to answer questions. She helped us so much; most of all when we were trying to book a tour at the last minute to visit the Douro Valley. All the tours were booked, but Sandra worked so hard and was able to find us a private driver. It was a magical visit to the Valley, which we will never forget and which we would never had done without Sandra's help. When she discovered that it was our anniversary trip, she arranged for a card to be signed by the staff wishing us well and invited us to have a Vogue cocktail on the house. Magical, magical visit here in Porto. We would encourage anyone planning to visit this lovely city to stay at the Hotel Infante Sagres. You will not want to leave!…
This hotel is all that the perfect reviews state. I did check the negative reviews to confirm what I believe happened to us. We had room 116 and our friends had the room above (not 216). Our rooms were one and two levels above street level and on a Wednesday and Thursday night we heard University students departing the bars until at least 4:30am. It did not matter how comfortable the beds were, we got very little sleep both nights we stayed. Apparently the corner of the property we stayed in is close to the bars and drunk Portuguese students like to sing. …
Thee location is great, as are the staff, service and rooms. Eating at the hotel restaurant was very pleasant and good food. Even several Vegan choices. The rooms are small but well appointed and maintained.
Lovely is the perfect word for this hotel. Old world luxury, comfortable, well appointed rooms, a staff that is A++++ in their care and attention to guests. Make sure to eat a meal or two in the adjacent Vogue Cafe...the food and service are EXCELLENT! Perfectly located to enjoy the sites of Porto....easy walking to shopping, dining, the water.…
This is the most wonderful place to stay. It is beautiful and has a very interesting artistic history in its own right. It gives easy access to the centre of Porto. The reception areas, the restaurants, the rooms are all very stylish, but it is not in the least intimidating, not even for those who are not always confident world travelers. The comfort and happiness we experienced however was largely the result of the best staff we have ever encountered. We can't thank them enough for their friendliness, care and for always making us feel at ease and welcome. Fantastic hotel, fantastic team. Thank you.…
