The room was on the ground floor- we simply needed a room for three nights. This floor is directly next to the parking area and thankfully not as noisy if the hotel was full. Piping in the hotel needs to be sorted out due to shuddering that takes place when someone showers. Location is superb though and you are in...

I wasn't expecting much from a 2 star hotel, and Rex delivered exactly what we needed. Good beds, adjustable air conditioning, good storage space and a good bathroom with a shower and a bath. Lovely parlour including a bar to spend an evening playing cards, and very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location near to many nice restaurants, squares, clubs...

I don't agree with a lot of the older posts regarding this hotel, here's how I found it. It's all going to depend on what room you are given. We got just before the lobby on the ground floor, it was pretty noisy from residents coming and going, but nothing so bad to request a move. The two guys on...

Simple old-fashioned furniture but in good conditions. Plenty of space in our room and a very good daylight exposition. Nice location and very kind staff. You can leave your car in their park if you need it and it is not that expensive. I would go there again if I need a place to stay in Oporto.

not clean, without bedclothes, room no. 22 before entrance, very cold, poor signal of wifi, cigarets smoke inside, big noise inside, staff not very friendly, good localization, near metro and bus station

Was there just one night but I would go there again. It is an old kind of hotel but has all that is necessary. It would do with some refurbishment of bathrooms etc. but it is clean and matches the price you pay for staying there.

After initial concerns of our room being outside of the hotel entrance, and a quick, no fuss move from who appeared to be a manager, we arrived in an expectedly traditional room. Much quieter and with a spacious-but-dated functional bathroom and a spare room for any extra bits clogging up our sleeping area. We had a lovely view from our...

I was traveling with my Portuguese friend and we stood at Rex for two nights. The hotel was recommended by a travel guide who is resident of Porto. The hotel has great location, little bit walk to most tourist attractions but it was fine even to my friend who wasn't in great shape. BTW taxi is very affordable, one time...

We were transferred to this delightful little hotel as our room at the pre booked hotel was unavailable. We were not disappointed. The entrance and public rooms were delightfully old fashioned, very clean, quirky with period features and comfy. Our room was on the top floor, small and cozy. It was very clean and the bathroom was large. It is...
