Saving with quality is at HF Tuela Porto.Paying less does not mean you have to leave something out. This is not a hotel with minimum services but one that adapts itself to the actual needs of its guests. The quality of our services is side by side with the other group hotels and the clients' satisfaction is faced with the same dedication. Even in the South Wing of the HF Tuela Porto, where prices are irresistible, the rooms are equipped with Cable TV and SPORTV, the bathroom is equipped with hairdryer and the towels are changed everyday. The cleaning service is also performed daily and the breakfast service is available as an option. The Wi-Fi Internet is free and it is available in the entire hotel. Its amazing location is priceless: located in Boavista, the HF Tuela Porto has the public transportation network right at its door and it is very closed to Casa da Música, Pavilhão Rosa Mota, Soares dos Reis Museum, as well as an endless number of restaurants with extended working hours and several night life spots. The HF Tuela Porto is the perfect choice for those who do not want to leave anything out, even saving money.

Stayed 4 nights upon arriving in Porto. For a 3 star hotel the property is very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and offer a closet with a safe, a kettle and tea/coffee service, a small fridge that is stocked but still room to put a beer, wine bottle or water bottle in to chill. Several outlets but no usb ports. Bathroom has a bidet. Shower had good water pressure. It’s actually a tub/shower combination. Only thing missing was wash cloth. Didn’t get one in either of my Portugal hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, Starts at 7. Several options from eggs to pancakes, side dishes, so many fresh breads, cereal, fancy coffee machine, fresh juices. There is also a bar at the hotel but we didn’t visit it. Next door is a 3 store mall with a full service American size grocery store to buy water, snacks, wine etc. at very affordable prices. One block away is the Mercado Bom Success, an upscale food court. We ate dinner there twice. The hotel is in an area called Villa Nova so a 30 to 40 minute walk from the historical center. The metro is 10 to 15 minutes away, Casa de Musical stop, which will take you to the historical center in 15 minutes. I would stay here again if ever in Porto.

We stayed there for 3 nights. Although the room was on the first floor facing at the back, the view was still amazing. Room great, bed and matress great. Toilet very small and difficult to move or leave your things around. However, not a major problem. Towels were changed every day.
Breakfast was amazing, various and plenty. We tried almost everything. The food was tasty and fresh.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. They answered all our questions and gave us helpful advice about destinations and travelcards. I asked them to refill the shower gel, as it had finished, and they did that the next second. Kitchen staff very helpful and picked up all the dirty dishes from the table after asking you.
Location not in the city centre but the bus terminal is behind the shopping mall (which is near the hotel) so we had all the options of taking any bus to anywhere. You can also top up the Andante Travel Bus card in the bus terminal. Metro station is also next to Casa Da Musica (all busses stop there).
Very good hotel, we can definitely stay there again next time we visit Porto.

This hotel is more a four than a three star. Excellent location close to shopping, restaurants, buses and metro. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful, and always with a smile on their face. I was spending my birthday with my wife. In the evening when I got back to my room, I was surprised to find a bottle of champagne and two slices of lemon cheesecake complete with a candle. A very nice gesture by the management and staff. I highly recommend this hotel and classify it as nothing but 'superb'

Chambre 31 ala sul. I booked my hotel on lastminute and the price was fair, however, when you book at the hf tuela, the rooms in the south wing are slightly different as far as room anemities are concerned 😟. Be warned that the rooms are large but there is no chair no table no tea or coffee, no water, no fridge. I found out at check-in only that despite showing tea, fridge etc the ala sul come only with bed and bathroom. The twin beds are not confortable. I had required a double though..
If you leave the window open it's very noisy. But you can stick yo the econ and close them. The staff was OK. Nothing special. Was not interested in interacting when I found out about my twin room...ughh. breakfast is pretty basic and we got the same food every morning. The warm fishes were cold and the cold dishes barely cold...coffee makers were slow. Its more a 2 star hotel like ibis.
The location on the métro line is the main reason I chose it. Casa da musica is 10 mimutes on foot. The erea has several eateries and malls. Though not in the center it's conveniently located and that's the reason I give 3 stars.

Excellent hotel. Comfortable & clean room with spacious bathroom. Housekeeping completed every day to a very high standard. The staff are what makes this hotel a beautiful stay! Nothing was to trouble for them. The hotel is out of the main touristic areas in the financial area. However a 20 minute walk takes you to to the river & Ribeara district. Worth knowing that taxis are plentiful & inexpensive ( the walk back is uphill !) The breakfast was great , lots of choice and items replenished on a frequent basis. A huge shout out to Joana on the front desk for her in depth knowledge , recommendations of things to do, places to eat and see in Porto and help with bookings . She is very proud of her city and this shines through. Also a mention to Fernando who assisted us with our luggage & taxi at check out. All in all a wonderful stay.

I have been hosted in this hotel for a week. The experience was very good. The staff is gentle and helpful, rooms are very clean and confortable. The air conditioning can be put in a silent mode. Breakfast is not particularly rich, but it is more than enough. Metro station is not far, and the area surrounding the hotel is full of shops and restaurants, so you can find everithyng you need.

Not worth the price of 125+ euros per night. At all. Might as well have stayed in a budget Isis hotel. (Which I actually did prior to my stay here, in Coimbra. The experience there was actually better, and for 50 euros per night less!)

It started with my arrival. After entering the elevator, the electricity died and I actually had to manually pry open the doors. When confronting the person at the desk about this, he simply shrugged and fed me some obvious lies about fire drill testing. Seems he already forgot he was the one who directed me to said elevator just a few minutes prior.

The room. Standard room, nothing special. The bed mattress however was of poor quality. I have spent quite some time in hotels, and this is possibly my second worst experience in terms of sleeping. I actually had to use the extra pillows to make sure my back didn't suffer through the night.

I have other small complaints, but I think this paints enough of a picture. I expected a higher class of hotel, and got a poor experience even by budget level standards.

I cannot recommend this hotel.

Response from HF Hotels, General Manager at HF Tuela Porto
Responded May 5, 2022
Dear Chris, I confess that initially I was not sure if you would have stayed with us because the situations described were nothing like our hotel. However, since you also left your opinion on Booking.com, we could already detect what happened during your stay. We sincerely regret what happened but, that day, we were doing a fire drill, as reported inside each of the elevators. Customers could continue to use them, however, if the alarm went off, the elevators would not work for security reasons. Our sincere apologies for this situation. Regarding the mattresses, they are recent and most customers have praised the beds but we understand that all customers have different tastes and that it is not possible to please everyone. In any case, if you had informed us of your discontent, we would have tried to find a solution to make you feel more comfortable. We sincerely hope to have the privilege of welcoming you again, convinced that we will do everything to provide you with a stay that meets your expectations. Yours sincerely, Bárbara Moreira HF Quality & Customer Relationship Manager

It was good to be back staying at the Tuela........we've missed visiting Porto , due to the pandemic. Hotel in a great location , with easy access to transport , both metro and bus, and walking distance to many attractions. Staff are very welcoming , rooms spacious , comfy bed , plenty of storage space and good shower. Breakfast was good , with choices of hot & cold items , and a variety of pastries each morning. Yes , it was good to be back !! Would recommnend.

I have spent three nights in this hotel and I have enjoyed it a lot. The room was big, clean with TV and nice bathroom, with all equipment you may need. I have never get such qualify for its price. The historical part of the city is 20 minutes from the hotel, while the metro station is just 10 minutes away. Staff is welcoming and polite, eager to assist you.

We liked this hotel very much. It was clean and pleasant, with friendly staff. Minimum bathroom ammenities, but basic. Breakfast was very good and varied. There is a parking for a fee of 12 euro per day. The place is excellently located, restaurants and shops at walking distance. Nearby is a shopping mall and a food market. Would definitely come again.

see mass transit stcp web site for details -use their itinerarium I entered Hotel Fenix which is near or part of HF Tuela from the airport and got bus #601 I noticed that the metro system will carry you most of the way on the E Line (see google maps) but to carry luggage up that hill to your hotel may prove to be a bit more than you care for after landing from a long flight. Taxi fare is affordable - less than 20 euros and thats with a scenic drive in and bit of the downtown view for 2 people with large luggage.
