Stayed for 3 nights at this lovely 4 star hotel. Marco at reception was amazing helping upgrade us once we gave him feedback on our room neighbour. We ended up in a privilege room on the 12th Floor overlooking the city. Marianne in the breakfast room could not do enough to help. She arranged tasty omelettes and even got us additional pillows for our room. Thoroughly recommend the hotel as the location is ideal with so many nearby restaurants, transport to downtown or the coast. There us a lovely vietnamese restaurant a few doors away and an indoor street food market next door the hotel. However, the attitude and willingness of the staff to help, was first class!
The hotel is situated a 10 minute walk from the Metro (Casa de Musica), and is located amongst various shopping centres and places to eat. It has no restaurant of its own (other than for breakfast), but this is not a problem as there are so many places to eat just outside the door. Eating in the hotel involves ordering from a local restaurant (bbGourmet). The food was great, though it would have been nice if the website offered a slightly easier path for ordering.
It's my wife's birthday and I surprise her with a 3 night stay in Porto, somewhere new to us. The flight from Bristol is an early one, so we arrive at the hotel around 09:30, and all we want to do is drop our case off and take a wander outside. Check-in is at 14:00, but the man on reception asks if we've eaten. We have breakfast for 3 mornings, but not today, at which point he invites us to go to the breakfast room and have a complimentary breakfast on the hotel. Good start! Our room is ready by 11:00, so after a great breakfast we head for the room. It's large, clean, tidy and is more than ample for our stay. At around 19:30 there's a knock on our door; I answer to find a waitress holding a tray with a bottle of chilled Champers and some cake, for my wife's birthday. Great touch! Breakfast was wonderful each morning, and the room was always spotless. The hotel is next door to a shopping centre which opens from 06:30 to 23:00, and always seemed empty. Lots of food places in there, including a McDonalds which serves beer! The hotel has it's own bar with very reasonable prices, not like the one we experienced in London last year. Great hotel, great service, 5 minute walk from Metro station, no rip off, but is about a 30 minute walk from the Old Town. Worth it though!…
Stayed in October great position easy walk down to river - much harder walk back so taxi, Nice room well equipped with everything you need. Good breakfast with great choice. Enjoyed the funky bar & happy hour. There are some great restaurants within easy walking distance & the market next door with communal eating places & music. We used hotel package for hop on hop off bus which does a special pick up at the hotel
Hotel was nice, clean, friendly reception staff, great breakfast, half an hour walk to main centre. Holiday was spoiled by the fact my husbands wallet was taken from our room while we were eating breakfast and the manager did not take our complaint seriously.
