Sometimes one event can ruin the entire experience. In this case it was the person that refused to store my bag upon checkout. He said the hotel has no storage facility and that I should put my bag next to the elevator, where obviously everyone can take it without anybody noticing. He also refused to take it beyond the counter...

My room 210 was moldy, had very poor daylight, the carpet hadn't seen a vaccum cleaner in ages: was dirty and old, the sheets were about to tear apart, the bathroom was clean but was very old and the pipes were smelly. When I asked for a hairdryer I was asked to pay 10 Euros until I returned it (???)...

Very close to Sao Bento station, this is a lovely old fashioned hotel. Despite feeling a bit 'run down' we have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. Rooms do vary but if possible staff will change rooms for you if you are not happy. We did change rooms due to noise. Breakfast room is beautifully tiled and quite...

I was warmly welcomed after a long day of travel. It is a grand art deco hotel that turns 100 years old in 2017. The rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent, very close to the railway station. Breakfast was adequate. I would gladly stay there again.

We drove from the Algarve to Porto, about 350 miles,on the Motorway. So tolls payable, but much less traffic. God bless sat-nav.It took us straight to the Hotel.Traffic very busy, but found an underground car park just around the corner. The Hotel, much like the surrounding area, has a lot of charm ,albeit with a fading grandeur. We wanted to be close to the Sao Bento...

This hotel is very near the Sao Bento station and metro. The hotel is quiet, clean and has beautiful old decorations, you could be in the 1920. For the price we paid the breakfast was very reasonable and the room with bathroom adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful .Only one pity no English TV station! We very much enjoyed...

Low budget is what you book and what you will get. The breakfast in the mornings was very basic but filling. No warm breakfast. I found it a bit boring after 6 days. The room was clean but very old. The bathrooms are in very old condition. The worst was the mattress. I am aware that you get what you...

I stayed in the infamous fifth floor, which is the low cost section of the hotel (the rest looked better) The room had a good price, so I wasn't expecting luxury and in fact you get a small and basic (but resonably clean) room with a shared bathroom (which needs some refurbishment). It could have been ok for the price,...

Very conveniently located near the Sao Benito train station and the city. Quiet, clean, and reasonably priced. The personnel helped get us a taxi to the metro station as we left. The breakfast is well-provisioned and is served in a beautifully-tiled dining room.

Room dirty, old and everything broken. A lot of problems about the reservations, charging the credit card even if I say expressly not to do. Even they threatened to call the police and throw me away when I asked about the Complaining Book. I could do this only at the check out. Really the worst experience ever. I don't recommend,...
