Very helpful staff. Hotel provided us with a smart phone at no cost that was equipped with GPS maps and allowed us to make 30 minutes of calls in Portugal or internationally each day. They had an excellent breakfast (somewhat slow service one of the 4 days we were there), and an outstanding tasting dinner menu on weekend evenings for only 30 euros per person (wine was extra). I would highly recommend the hotel. Rooms were large and it was not overly expensive. Very much worth the price.
The staff was extremely courteous and made us feel welcome from the beginning of our stay, which started with a taste of local Port. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff went out of the their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The location was good for walking to the many local sights and area of interests. I would stay here again if my travels bring me back to Porto!
Stayed for four nights at the end of February, we had the suite room, which was fantastic, excellent comfortable bed, separate lounge area, and wonderful bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were excellent and helpful, especially at check in, where they provided a wealth of useful local information. We ate in the restaurant once at lunch and also one evening, food was wonderful, and such good value, €10 for 2 course lunch, and €40 for a 7 course digestion menu in the evening, with great value wines to match, who could ask for more. The hotel was well placed to explore the whole of Porto, and to top it all of we had perfect weather, being best part of 70 degrees in February was glorious. The only downside of the hotel is breakfast, the staff seemed a little hesitant in service, the hot foods were tepid at best, and seemed to run out quickly, but took an age to replenish. Also milk on the table would be nice, getting milk for cereal/tea/coffee was a bit of a pain. The quality of the items was good though. Were this to be improved then the hotel would be 100% perfect. Still would not hesitate to come back in the future.…
I would recommend everything about this hotel but most of all the staff. We were made to feel welcome all through our stay by every member of staff - I would very much encourage people to book here and enjoy the delights of a Porto in comfort.
We had a two night stay at this hotel and liked our room and the design aesthetic of the hotel’s public areas. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome at reception and a glass of port, this was much appreciated! Throughout our stay the front desk was very helpful; one nice woman reviewed some local churches with us on a map and made us reservations for Fado on another night. In terms of the room, our bed was comfy, and I loved the Nespresso machine in the room. In terms of location the hotel is 3 or 4 block walk to the Bolhao Metro stop and Rua de Santa Catarina, which has some touristy knickknack shops, some local shopping (I recommend the soap store), and perhaps my favorite shop in Porto, Fabrica da Nata. I recommend breakfasting at Fabrica da Nata, these were my favorite Pastel de nata in all of Portugal. Come to think of it, breakfast was the only thing I did not like about the hotel; service was a little strange and they seemed unsure of what was included with the breakfast. Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel and I would recommend it.…
