My wife and I stayed at CHIC for two nights before heading to islands. Highly recommend this property for a few reasons: 1.Great service and helpful staff - attentive care to the property and great care in ensuring that you make the best of your stay in Athens city core (maps provided, suggestions on what to visit, etc) 2. Great...

I traveled w/ a friend back in late May 2013. When we arrived at hotel, the front desk clerk was very professional and accommodating. We were given a room immediately upon arrival. A while later when I went to the bathroom, it did not have any water pressure in the sink due to some electrical/construction work going on in the...

Chic hotel is very closely situated to the metro, so it was easy to get around and also to and from the airport. The area wasn't too bad. The hotel is clean and very comfortable. Rooms are small, but manageable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Guided us on how to get around Athens and also what to do....

We stayed in this hotel as it was a good rate for a four star hotel. To be honest it is not the greatest of hotels. While it is close to the train station the area itself is not nice at all. Very dark and grey neighbourhood which you do not feel safe in walking round at night. The hotel...

This is an average hotel in every area, location, service, breakfast, room. Sad and gray neighborhood. It was clean and functional, the price is decent, but I will be choosing another next time I'm in Athens.

As other reviews have mentioned, this is not the nicest area of town, but once you step inside the hotel it seems like you are a world away! The hotel is brilliant value for money and the bed is one of most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever seen. Facilities in the room were basic, i.e. no tea/coffee, iron or safe...

We stayed here for 2 nights while exploring Athens. The Hotel is neat and modern on the inside and the staff are relatively friendly. The rooms are a bit small but acceptable. It is close to Omonia station. The breakfast is very basic boiled eggs, ham, cheese and pastries. What they do not tell you is that the area is...

This hotel is very nice for people travelling on a budget. It has a lovely breakfast, a very nice and helpful staff, and clean, spacious rooms. It is very close to a subway station as well. I was pleased with my experience.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
