The Brown Acropol hotel stands as a central hub for many guests, with its prime location just a stone's throw from top attractions, although concerns about the surrounding area's safety and tidiness have been noted. While the retro-themed atmosphere and rooftop amenities, including bars and jacuzzis, consistently impress, opinions on the hotel's music and lighting vary. Accommodations are generally spacious and comfortable, but some guests report cleanliness and noise issues. The staff's warm service is a highlight, even as experiences of slow responses occur. When it comes to value, guests are divided, with some finding the pricing reasonable and others pointing out costly extras.

Rooms are quite dark, an extra high beam would be welcome. Furthermore, it is neat and the retro style provides a unique experience (including the record player).
Due to the location, right in the center, there is some noise pollution (check the windows, because they do not close properly). Earplugs are therefore not an unnecessary luxury. Especially when you have noisy neighbors and continuous banging on the middle door.
Breakfast choice is wide, something for everyone. Quite like an English Breakfast (very hot...). Fresh honey, fruit,… There was also continuous replenishment…
Hot tubs on the rooftop are absolutely wonderful!

I have just returned from a five-night stay at the Brown Acropol hotel and I can say that I was satisfied from all points of view.
This is a hotel whose rooms and services in general more than fully deserve the 4 star rating.
Our room was very spacious, well furnished and equipped with all comforts, starting with a huge TV and a kingsize bed. The bathroom products are also excellent and the amenities are very complete, including bathrobes and slippers. Perhaps the only element that could be improved would be the lighting in the bathroom (without a window), which was honestly a bit poor.
The structure is also very well looked after in the common areas, worth mentioning is the rooftop on the ninth floor, with the restaurant/bar which also serves as a breakfast room and offers a wonderful view of the acropolis, numerous jacuzzis, hammocks and chaise longs. The quality of the breakfast products is decent, even if a little repetitive, nothing essential is ever missing from the buffet.
The hotel also has a SPA, which we could use for free upon reservation, and a small gym on the top floor.
The staff were courteous, special mention to Steve, for the friendly welcome with welcome drink.
The location is central, even if on a very busy street, but thanks to the excellent soundproofing the quality of sleep is excellent.
If I were to stay in Athens again I would probably stay here again and I also recommend it for the excellent quality/price ratio.

Amazing Hotel & Staff, Everyone was friendly and polite at the brown acropol, cosy room was more than enough too many people complaining on the reviews about size of the room nothing wrong with the size at all for a couple if you don't mind living out of your case it isnt an issue. Fresh towels and shower gels etc everyday, fresh bed everyday, only small issue was the hotel room cards stopped working every day or two and we were on the 8th floor out of 9 and after a long day of checking out the city the last thing you need in 35 degree heat is getting to your room with tired legs and having to go back to reception 😴, in a week I did this to get new room cards 4 times and the lifts took forever so I walked down almost everytime.

I'm not going to knock the hotel on its rating for this as everything else on the rooftop and value for money was worth it! The hotel is perfectly located for Athens 100%!

Athens was incredible, a must visit!

Flights - delayed take off on both inbound and outbound flights. Upon landing in Athens, the overall time it took for the plane to disembark walk to baggage and then wait for baggage was a little over 70 minutes, half of this was standing around waiting for luggage.

Landing home in Manchester the overall time was closer to 90 minutes. Waiting an hour for baggage which was disappointing and the internet signal was poor so we were literally all stood around with nothing to do. Jet2 could have done better here...

Other than this both flights were very pleasant, staff were friendly and captain did keep us updated regularly which was appreciated.

£750 per person (X2 people) flights, 23kg case X2 and 10kg case X2, for bed and breakfast (breakfast was fantastic everyday) in Athens city centre, rooftop hotel with bars and hot tub facilities, for 7 nights stay, in the peak of summer 06/08/23 - 13/08/23 you can't complain at that value! we made our own way to hotel and back to the airport as it's very easy on the subway link and much cheaper at approximately £5 per person each way.

A holiday to remember and I can't wait to visit Greece again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely abstain if it is rest that is sought! In fact, we had an unpleasant surprise when we came to rest in this 4-star hotel in the center of Athens to be able to do cultural tours in the city. Let's start with the beginning. The first evening, the first inconvenience consisted of small pieces of cake between the sheets. Change of room. The 2nd evening a disaster: we were on the 7th floor and on the 9th a party was taking place whose music made the walls of our floor shake. And it's not an image. Deafening boom-boom music whose bartenders in the 9th arrondissement refused to turn down the volume. It was necessary to call on the manager, Ms. Georgia Filaktou. Faced with the evidence, she suggested we change rooms and move to the 4th floor. The sound reached there! Faced with our protests, Ms. Filaktou offered us reimbursement for one night in a hotel, which has never been done since September 3, and despite 3 emails sent to the hotel which remained unanswered. Why lie to customers?
Furthermore, this very fashionable music is constantly broadcast from breakfast time until the restaurant closes in the evening. Certainly the sound level or the number of decibels is not at the same level as the evening of the party. But remains extremely disturbing and can spoil the breakfast offered to customers. If only this feedback could change things, it would be perfect for future customers. Let's not count on it
We still hope that the commitment and the word given will be honored. The seriousness of management is at stake.

We stayed at this hotel in Athens and while the location was fantastic—everything was within a 10-20 minute walk—the cleanliness was disappointing. Our room was consistently dusty, and we had to remind the reception multiple times to ensure proper cleaning. Housekeeping often forgot to leave essentials like clean towels, toilet paper, and toiletries. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The reception area is a cool oasis as soon as you arrive. The complimentary fizz on arrival was a nice touch and I was advised my booking had been upgraded which was a great start to my break. My room overlooked the back of the shops below so although there was no view, it was very quiet. There was a record player in the room which was cool and a retro touch. I found a vinyl shop and bought a jazz record for €3 (although there was a record in the room) which added to the experience.
Breakfast was good - usual mix of typical breakfast foods.
The room had some lovely toiletries, hairdryer, and extras (loofah) as well as bathrobes and slippers which I used for visiting the hot tubs on the roof.
The hotel is close to Omonia metro. I walked everywhere as it’s very central.
The Gyros shop over the road was cheap and delicious!
As a solo female traveller I felt safe staying here.

I saw this place wet n booking our city break and straight away, thought this is a funky hotel and right up our street so booked it!

With so many hotels your are spoilt for choice and the mistakes I think people make is to get as close as possible to the Acropolis. This in my view has a few failings. 1) the price in increases 2) It can be far busier 3) your hotel is more generic.

Here was the opposite, the area Omonia isn't masses of people 24/7 it is actually quiet of a night, so on the rooftop it wasn't filled with the sounds of the streets below but the great music playing in the background.

A walk to the main tourist areas was less than 15 minutes and the metro terminal less then. 5. We used the metro from the airport, which was quicker and 60 euros cheaper (plus our tickets gave us 3 days unlimited travel)

The hotel is chilled from the minute you walk in (Prosecco on arrival) and the staff all welcoming. The main desk were lovely and everything clearly explained and they liked I tried a bit of Greek as well

The room we had although no real view (why sit in the room when you have the roof) was comfy, big and very clean. Coffee and water to hand and a pinky retro look throughout

There is free use of the hot tubs, gym and sauna (need to book the sauna area) so you are really getting your monies worth

I had 2 evenings sitting in the hot tub being served cocktails and a beer listening to great chill out music which I downloaded while I was there.

There was an amazing young lad (his first season) who was so helpful so I have to mention him here. I forgot his name but he was a tall handsome lad with glasses. So if you encounter him during your visit, you will be well looked after!

We didn't eat here as we ventured out every day and evening, Bit rather food we saw in the restaurant looked and smelled lovely.

This was a great base for us as it had everything nearby, quick snacks, transport, close to other areas of interest and was just out of the way of the main areas , which are so busy (Even February)

It's different to your usual hotel which to us made our visit to lovely Athens all that more enjoyable. We would stay here again and have Athens in our sights for an another trip.

Big thanks to all the staff and the owners for a wonderful stay!

The hotel is right opposite the Omonia subway station and it's really easy to get to from the airport with only one change. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs 9 euros.
The staff are all very friendly and provide really good advice on tickets, directions etc.
The breakfast is great and has a lot of local dishes which were tasty and make a change from normal breakfast fare that you find in a lot of hotels. There was a lot of variety so something for everyone. Plenty of different drinks as well.
Our room was on the fifth floor with a balcony overlooking the main road.it was noisy to start off with but we got used to it and it was nice to site out in the cool air on the balcony. The room itself had a massive queen sized bed, fridge, safe, bathroom with good quality products, a large tc and a Nespresso machine.
We used the rooftop Jacuzzis in the evening and that was a really pleasant way to end the day.
The location was perfect for us as it was only a 10 -15 minute walk to the Acropolis and the other attractions and a 10 minute walk to the museums. It felt like authentic Athens because we walked by the traders and markets.

The staff were very friendly & helpful, especially Steve who was always ready with a chilled glass of Prosecco. The hotel’s location was very good and close to the main sites, but there are a lot of beggars around the square, thankfully there is constant security on the door. The deluxe room we had was a fair size, with a massive bed, and the soundproofing made sure the noise outside was blocked out. We really liked the 60s decor, but wished the theme stretched to the music in the bar. The breakfast was excellent, but the restaurant food was fine. The service however was extremely slow. Not sure the mix of bar, restaurant and outdoor jacuzzis really works, just feels strange to be eating dinner with people in bikinis walking by!

I visited Athens with my parents and we stayed in balcony rooms for 3 nights. Rooms are big and cosy. The mattress is soft yet firm which was important for us since my parents are old and they can’t rest properly on typical mushy hotel mattresses. The housekeeping staff was polite and always readily provided us with water bottles, toiletries etc.

There was a small maintenance issue as bathroom lights were not working in one of the rooms. We called the reception and they immediately shifted us to another room.

Veronica at reception was extremely courteous and helpful. As tourists we had lots of questions. She politely and patiently answered everything and explained to me the best places to see, what tour services to use, where to find ATMs (with policeman nearby so as to avoid any risk of getting robbed), best restaurants as per our preferred cuisine etc. We requested for airport transfers and late check out and she graciously arranged everything. Thank you Veronica for making it a comfortable stay. 🙏🏽

The road outside can be busy but yes cabs frequently pull up, I think there was a lay-by or something close to the entrance.. Also, there is usually a member of staff close to the entrance to assist anyone who may need it. The front of house staff are amazing.
