This was the first night of our honeymoon, after about 17 hours of travel. And it was the PERFECT place to get settled in to Greece. The service was very attentive and nice, we loved chatting with them and learning about the area. We also spent most of our time on the rooftop patio, which was absolutely stunning. And you...

Great hotel. The staff were all friendly and one circulated in the breakfast room in case anyone had any questions. Our room was not very big, average for a city stay but clean and comfortable. The bed, again not big, was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, not much choice of fruit but excellent Greek yogurt and a choice of...

Found this hotel to be excellent value, superior room was more than big enough for our 10 day stay, lots of choice for breakfast and 7 - 10am which is a lot longer than most hotels, great location and a wonderful view of the Acropolis from the roof terrace where the bar opens at 5.30pm, get a drink, watch the...

I specifically chose this hotel due to the reviews I read off Trip Advisor. I was going to be traveling solo in Athens and wanted to visit Acropolis. This hotel was 3 blocks away from the metro train coming in from the airport. Once I got off I asked around and found my hotel in no time. In the evening...

We caught the bus from the airport. We were not sure if the subway was better but as they were on strike the decision was made for us! The terminus of the bus was about ten minutes’ walk from the hotel. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The reception team were so welcoming...

One word, WOW!. OK, there are fancier hotels in Athens and there are better views and maybe better locations; so why the WOW? Room was comfortable, the cantina is open ALL day for breakfast, every morning the manager speaks with every guest to insure their stay is going well and it is located directly across from Vintage Bar and Bistro....

Affordable with a caring staff. They prepped breakfast for us at 3:30 in the morning before our trip to the airport. We were just blown away by their service! Cute, quaint room. Enjoyed the balcony with view of acropolis!

Stayed at the Plaka for four nights with friends. On arrival we checked in very quickly and efficiently and were allocated rooms on the fifth floor. Our rooms were standard ones and suitable for our visit, basically we needed somewhere to sleep and shower etc. The rooms had twin beds, a wardrobe, shower and toilet etc, Tv, and telephone. The...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
